for around £400 :)

decided to save a bit more, and would like the watch guru's advice on to which would be the best in this price range please? the style i like would be a clean stylish look, none of this over fancied crap, steel strap would be preferable, but a nice leather one would also be in my choice if it was nice enough :)

TIA if anyone can advise.

DKNY NY1324 is the one I have at the moment, very nice broze coloured face (strap is darker than all the photos on the internet).

This is only £100-150

I always find that watches are down to personal preference and what one person likes, you may not,

One thing you might not get from some of the pictures on the internet is that the watch is quite thick (about 15mm at its widest) but that is why i liked it, feels very solid

THere are watches out there which mimic the u boat type crown cover but at a lower cost. I have seen a Tauchmeister at a watch get together and it was very similar. http://www.tauchmeisterwatches.com/

the miyota movements used in some of their autos are ok.

It may be that spending a bit less on a watch this style would be no bad thing as they are very 'now' and you may get tired of it. Not meaning to sound negative just wondering how this look will age.

you could also try things like bernarus, lum tech who make big watches in that price range although different styles

well what i did is i saved up and bought my seamaster this year, your not going to get a proper seamaster for that money and i recommend you save your money and you do.

you see i got a bit of inheritance from my grandad (just £2000) and what i thought is at 22 ive never needed a watch before, but i thought it would be a good investment to spend my inheritance on a watch because then id never have to buy a watch again. (hopefully)

you wont believe how handy this thing is, looks sharp too

good for you, but there are plenty of other watches available;)

Given he likes uboat he probably isn't in the market for an omega. We are all different!

If he fancied something like that he would not have to add much to his budget to get a used seamaster

IMO either

Spend £100ish on a Seiko, Rotary etc with a half decent movement. Avoid the fashion brands (Gucci etc) as they tend to be cheap watches with a monstrous markup.

Stump up the extra for an Omega or similar.

FF. because the guys at the rolex shop in the town centre said it was genuine but wouldn't take it without a receipt (he didnt have one, got the watch from his uncle) do you think he got a bad deal?

What is wrong with you? Troll?

Used seamaster? yes, there is a very solid used market for watches, which if you knew anything about them you would be aware of.

I have seen three or four seamasters trade this week and in fact they are one of the most traded watches among the online watch communities because they are one of (if not) the most common watch from the big brands and they are often the first major watch purchase people make. They then tire of them and start flipping to fund other watches. Some of the seamasters hold their value well but you can pick up midsize ones for peanuts. A full size seamaster bond with full paper work in good condition sold on tz-uk this morning for £750:rolleyes:

If you know watches there is nothing to fear from buying used. If you are not just trolling apologies (but you may also want to modify your style.)

Not sure what your rant about drugs is about either. It sounds like a lie mixed up with some waffle.

Swatch. ;)

Less than a quater of your budget too.

How can you say no? Here's ther rest of the range :D

Definitely an Oris divers imo, there the only watch I would class as luxury at around that price.

Plus you really do get a high quality timepiece for your money, on one hand quite chunky but virtually indestructible because of it and you also at a decent swiss auto movement. You would be mad to spend more on an omega imo.
