I was a massive fan of Gran Turismo and have played though 1-4.

The other day I dug my PS2 out and had a blast on GT4 but the graphics looks really dated now on my 40" LCD.

I fancy another racing game, currently I only play COD4 on PC.

What's Forza 3 like? Xbox isn't that expensive is it? Trouble is I doubt there are any other games I would get for it.

Or get a PS3 slim now and get Prologue and Tekken 6 and join the wait for GT5?

Thanks

get a good few months out of forza and then trade the lot in for the inevitable GT5 ps3 pack whenever it decides to come out

No release date has even been set for GT5, the only mention it got was a March 2010 in Japan, it may be a worldwide release, or it may take a further 2-3 months for localisation before release..

So based on that, I'd say get the 360, at least until it does finally arrive you will get your fill of FM3...

There are some awesome back catalog titles for the 360, it depends on what you like of course..

Prologue is pretty much pants, nice as a demonstration of what the PS3 can do, but gameplay wise not much to it.

Forza 3 is very very good.

God knows when GT5 will show up.

(and for the record, I own both the PS3 and 360 before anyone accuses me of being a fanboi)

Ok, Which is the Xbox to go for then? (I'm a complete noob here)

Worth looking at used ones? Should I make a wanted thread in MM?

How much do they even cost new? <goes looking>

You guys are fast here, thanks for the replies. :)

Second hand, you want to look at 60gb models with HDMI, the HDD space is just enough, and it will be a recentish design making it more reliable..

Buying new, then a 'super Elite' can be had £250 for a 250Gb HDD + Forza 3 + extra wireless controller (IIRC), which makes the console only £210 since FM3 is worth £40 of anyones money..

The Super Elite will no doubt have a bit of a cachet when it comes to selling second-hand, they are a new (hopefully even more reliable) version that has everything..

I just got an elite from sainsburys.

£199.99 with two crappy thrpw away games (lego batman and PURE) But it also came with forza 3 and fifa 10. Cracking deal not sure if they are still runnning it

I would buy one new to be honest, that way you will get the most up to date chipset and a full warranty.

I am sure there will be other games that you get for it once you start using it :D

Blimey, that's a good deal

I know on the highstreet you could get a 120Gb Elite with Halo ODST and NFS Sfhit, both sell easily for £25 on the forums meaning the console is effectively £150..

I'm a MASSIVE fan of the GT games, however...

Forza 3 is absolutley fantastic. I'm playing with a few assists on as I think I suck with a pad but i've just been messing around with an Enzo around Laguna Seca with a manual gearbox and all assists off. My lord what fun that is!! It feels quite realistic aswell and the exhaust note from the V12 sounds awesome (and realistic) :)

This is probably my favourite racing game, ever!

But i'm still hoping GT is better. :)

If I can get it new for £200 with Forza 3 I will be happy, can't find a deal like that atm.

Supermarkets and others seem to be £250.

Ok I have found this deal...

Xbox 360 Elite
Forza 3
NFS shift (any good? I can choose another from a few select titles)

£208.78 and will be here by 1pm tomorrow.

Shift seemed ok when I briefly tried it.
But when you also have Forza3 - I doubt you'll touch shift.

Forza3 is far superior :)
