well my mates just got one says the thing flys just wondering are they fast and if so specs please :)

No, its slow.

Most normal people think turbodiesels fly. This is because they are confused about the turbo kicking in and have never driven anything fast

Did they really make a 110bhp Quattro ? can't see the point going by my sisters 1.9 A3 it is very hard to get the front wheels to spin even in the wet as it doesn't have enough power to upset the 225/45 tyres with a heavy engine over them.

I think it was made for the euro market where snow and ice are more common. If our winters do get harsher like the clarkson-bashers say they will, then they'll probably sell like hot cakes over here. Derv and Quattros getting MPGz and and being Twice As Safe would tickle a lot of peoples dangly bits I would imagine.

It's all about the torkz, man!

unless you live somewhere remote, the negatives outweigh the positives on a 110bhp quattro. the 4wd just makes it heavier, slower and less economical

11s 0-60 is rubbish

Slap him round the chops with a big fat slug. Then inform him the slug is the only thing it will beat in a drag race, although it might have the edge on Mr slug in a twisty hill-climb.

My mother has the 130BHP model and its not 4WD and its not particularly quick. Its a particularly boring drive also. She wants to palm it off onto me but its so boring I'd rather hitchhike.

As said in the mirth filled posts above its the turbo that makes it feel quick. My wifes 90 Leon has good pick up on it from the turbo but its next to useless because you think its going to ride this big crest of power, pull out to overtake and you suddenly realise its run out of puff.

They go a lot better when mapped though my previous Passat 110 TDI was remapped to around 150-60 bhp.
Had a FMIC, EGR delete and decat pipe fitted, used to spin the front wheels on command and not just in first gear.
Ok compared to a 3.0 litre Petrol Beemer or the 3.0D for that matter no it wasn't but it was far from slow.
