question about corsair H50

Assuming your case has a single 120mm 'exhaust' then yes it will replace it although be aware that the reccomended setup is to have the fan as an intake rather than the typical exhaust setup. You can run it as an exhaust but your cpu temperatures won't be as good (as you will be using hotter-than-ambiente air to cool the loop.

If you run it in the reccomended way make sure your case has a way of exhausting the hot air out (either with a side fan or top fan) otherwise other components may suffer.

how quiet is this thing is there just as quiet fan and heatsink based system as by the sounfs of it you need 2 fans for this which would produce twice as much sound wheres a fan based system would only need 1 ?

is the Corsair H50-1 the quiet as they come and is there a fan based system at the same level want to get a i5 chip up to 3ghz

The Fan supplyed is fairly quiet, But I replaced mine with the high end 120mm Fans so it had a high CFM output. I attached my radiator to the case and used a Bequiet Fan to blow the air out of the case (using the long screws supplyed to screw through the rubber mounts on the bequiet fan. I currently ran out of longer screws so Im just hanging 120mm fan off the back ouput outside the case and its still quiet with 2 fans and gave my 955 Quad 40c overclocked at 3.7Ghz

yeah its pretty much the same as the one supplied as the corsair, except it has worse static pressure than the corsair supplied one.

so which is the best 120 fan to get ? i also would like the lowest sound levels from a fan i have read people getting the Scythe S-FLEX 1600RPM Ultra Quiet 120mm for there heatsinks is this the best one to get between sound and aire pressure.

thanks

28DB is not quiet for a fan, I would prob get the Akasa apache its on offer atm and its 16DB. You want a fan with high pressure to force the air through the radiator, I would prob use the corsair fan to push and a silent fan to pull the air away from the radiator. I changed the setup I posted above in the picture and dropped my temps, Im using the corsair fan to push and the bequiet fan on the rear of the case to pull. Still dont fancy changing the air flow in my case because of my harddrives etc but I now got my PII 955 @3.7Ghz 36c Idle and I think the corsair supplied runs at 500RPM but i will double check that when I get home. :D
