The Official Football Manager 2010 Thread

So I finally succumbed and purchased the game. Played the demo for two 1/2 seasons and love it... Started as Altrincham FC in the Blue Square Premier... They're awesomely crap! But I can't wait to get them going like my old Dag & Red side... Took me 20 seasons but I finally got them in to the prem!
 
Berbatov is playing horrible for me now, he had a great start to the season but he just is not doing much now! Hasnt scored in over 10 games.

Might have to start Owen, he is a monster in the poacher role.

Its great raising up youngsters, I gave James Chester a few chances in the league cup and now hes making sub appearances in the first team :)!!!

Not buying anyone for a couple of seasons apart from a goalkeeper I think!

Oh and Diouf is really bad, his composure is so low and it shows, he misses so many chances!!!

As in El Hadji? What are you doing signing him? I'm a Rovers fan and he's usually first out the door on my game :p.

Not able to get this until my next paycheque, months game funds have been spent on Borderlands and Dragon Age: Origins. Looks like its the demo until then!

Are you able to transfer demo saves over to the full game? Doing quite well with Swindon Town and would like to try and achieve promotion.
 
Will be settling down for a night of playing Fm ! :D

Burr! It's Bonfire night tonight :( Means I'll have to be social and not finish my first season :(

Just read that as well, very good read! I'm starting with Ebbsfleet in the Blue Square Premier and with a £7k transfer budget and an 18 man squad, I think I might struggle this season. I've taken lots of notes from the guide which I'm sure will help with the setup of my tactics.

Spent this afternoon reading through that, fantastic.

I've made lots of notes and can't wait to start my Sheffield Wednesday team now :)

I might have a read on that as im playing as Arsenal and they have dropped into 10th place. :rolleyes:

Im doing well in all the cups including qualifying for the next stage but my league form is terrible with the amount of draws i get.

Funny that, I've been playing with United in my main game and the only team I've struggled wait sorry let me rephrase that, the only player I've struggled against is Torres.

I've tweaked my 4 4 2 to be near perfection, and I'm free scoring, not conceding) I owe a great deal to little things I've picked up over the years, but that guide has come in really helpful.

Arsenal, playing a high tempo? Short passing? maybe could try playing 4 5 1 with it becoming a 4 3 3 when you attack?
 
3 up going in to the home leg of the Champions Cup against Inter.

Inter were very poor at home, 0-3 didn't do the game justice :D

Just beat Liverpool in the League Cup final as well, Torres scored twice (meh) and I was two down at half time, gave them a peice of my mind and they came out and played like devils. Scored 4 easy second half.

Yeah Ive tried that. I think I need to take more time with it. I always jump straight in and rush through a season when i get these games. Then I realise that i have to take more time.

Has anyone tried buying torres? How much does it take to get him, sounds like a gem.

I don't take much time playing through the season, but I take bloody hours in pre season, it's where I do my tweaking and sorting out players / positions / roles ect ect...

Demo helped speed this up, but it's well worth starting a game, sorting out your training / staff and the saving it.

The scout people / try and sign people / see who you can and can't get / sell people and then start playing pre season games and sorting your tactics out.
