**The Dragon Age Origins Thread **

You're not going to be dissapointed. I'd go Mage first if I was you. Im playing a priest like character atm, and I cant even imagine trying to play without my healing spells helping out - Is quite a challenge in some fights as it is.

I think you could be right there, I'll probably go healing Mage of some desciption, Spirit healer. Didn't fancy Wynne as the healer anyway :p When I get enough chioce of companions I'll have maybe 2 Warriors up front and a dps of some description with me at the back calling the shots and buffing/healing everyone up.

Right, sorted :D

Yay the release dates on steam have just changed to midnight, i had asked for a refund as well but nevermind! Roll on midnight :)

I really really hope that this is as good as big old BG, it just can't be though... surely?

This games is very addictive. After 4hrs of play Id only completed 3%

Im the kind of gamer that has to explore every nook and cranny before moving onto next area

Fights are very challenging though. Still havent got a healer :(
I read that the enemies level scales with the players level, oblivion style, which sucks

Anyway Im off to play till I decide to go to bed :p

this true?

Apparently so - dissapointing, but its done to maintain a challenge throughout, as apparently you'll never be "backtracking" to older enemies (as you would in oblivion) so you'll never really notice anyway.

Although I always used to enjoy going back to an old enemy in my new high-level status and giving them a good whopping...like in BG2 when you use to encounger Gibberlings late in the game and smash them into a million pieces with one hit :D

Same thing happened in KOTOR I and II, and also in Mass Effect, so its hardly come as a surprise. Its not as bad as in Oblivion though, you dont see Bandits running around with enchanted weapons and such - they just have more HP and hit a bit harder.

They have said that is more subtle, they have caps and bottoms, and also if you visit an area it 'locks' the level of the area so that it never levels any more, meaning you can come back and woop some ass.

One big difference is that i think Dragon Age has Static loot which makes things a lot different. (meaning there is actually risk vs reward!)

the levelling system is more akin to Oscuros Oblivion Overhaul/Morrowind than vanilla Oblivion/Fallout 3.
