I got home from work this evening to find my Samsung box had got the new EPG. Taking a bit of getting used too.

I have an Amstrad box and still no update. Is it location specific? I am in Bristol. Also, and probably most importantly, due to location of box/dish/phoneline, we were given a plugable phonecable-hdbox cable as we did not want a cable run round most the house/doorframes. I did not think you needed the phone cable plugged into the HD box for an update to occur? Or is that perhaps the issue?

Thanks :)

Sorry to bump my earlier post, but do I need the phone cable plugged in to receive the update? or does it come down the dish?

Thanks :)

Same here, just rec'd the update. I like it, reminds me of freeview. Looks clean and more professional.

I got mine sometime this afternoon. Shame my full HD telly is in for warranty repair atm. Looks ok on my other TV in bedrooom though, gonna go and have a fiddle with it now (the TV) :>

Just got sky hd installed today - i understand that nobody with an amstrad has the new EPG yet?

Regardless, does the box need to be connected to the phone line for the update?

EDIT : im an idiot - ignore - seen the post above!

Its probably been posted before, but to recap :-

To do this, go to the Add Channels menu and use the following settings:

11.427
H
2/3
27500

Channel 10510

Is this with the new EPG or the old one?

samsung installed last night i guess...

MUCH prefer it, much more familiar and like my V+ one. Can now keep watching whilst i flick though - so annoying! As was getting prog info on the banner view for a diff show to the one being watched. Thank god.

New one.

Obviously being able to see a program description for a program on later, whilst watching a channel is great, but thats not the best bit for me.

The best thing about the new EPG is when you go into it the program you are enjoying stays on in the top right hand corner whilst you see what you shall be enjoying later.

The worse thing about the new EPG is when you go into it the program you are not enjoying stays on in the top right hand corner whilst you look for something better ;)

Anyone that has trouble finding ITV HD I suggest going to the link below, it has a screen by screen detailed explanation on how to set it up.

http://www.tellytoad.com/page/itv-hd-on-sky-hd.aspx

Also, you can find an ITV HD guide here: http://www.itv.com/Channels/HD/WeeklyHDSchedule/default.html

Another thing to add:

If you have Sky HD and only use a single satellite feed there is a hidden menu to turn your Sky HD box to Single feed mode. *This is only for the new EPG*

1. Goto Settings - Picture - (keep the remote highlighted on Picture) - Press 0, 1, Select in quick succession.

2. Scroll down to "Single Feed Mode" - Press the Right arrow on the remote to turn this on.

2. Press the green Button on the remote control to save - You will be prompted to have your Sky box rebooted - Press select on the remote.

This will take a few minutes and will automatically turn itself back on.

The only downside to this is that the Sky Anytime will no longer work, although if you had been using the single feed before you will have noticed barely anything was recorded in the first place.

Hope this helps.
