ASDA - Cockup, advice.

Perhaps even though you need to enter your 3 digit code to provide proof it's you at the end of the computer ASDA can process the credit card without requiring to give this proof to the bank. So the guy at the other end is receiving the order and it's just defaulting to your card.

Dont store your card details and enter them each time.....

safer - and you know whos where and whos who etc.

I do loads of on-line shopping, (dont drive) call their customer support thing - I think they are all South Afrikaaan
All the supermarkets bend over backwards to help - you will get it sorted and if u moan enough a free delivery or something next time.

Just give ASDA a call, I've found their home delivery customer service people to not be completely ignorant and stupid.

Also as above, enter the card details fresh each time, don't store them.

Yeah, seems to the way forward from now on. It's just been a huge problem, just a bit of an annoyance! Card details are now deleted from the ASDA site...

I wouldn't mind a bet ASDA get away without the 3 digit security code. I know for a fact they don't match cards with bill holders addresses even though they state at checkout that goods can only be delivered to cardholders address.

The 3 digit code goes to the bank with the authorisation request, I'd have imagined the bank would decline it if the code was wrong but it is up to them. They probably think grocery shopping is low risk.

Yup. The delivery address is different than the address on my card, and also the address that was stored as my cards billing address is somehow completely different than my actual billing address..

The only simple way to check the card holders address is AVS and gives a lot of false positives.

I'd imagine Asda take a risk managed view and if your ordering the usual fruit/veg/groceries they won't bother, especially if you have history with them.

Try putting the wrong address on a first order with a dozen bottles of whiskey though and see how far you get:)

Bit of a bump.

Was just going to leave this be, but I have now just been charged a total of £48 pounds for an unauthorised overdraft.

Nice one ASDA.

I'm guessing you spend a lot of money with them over the course of a year? I think for the sake of the bank charge (£25-£30?) they will probably pay it to keep you as a customer. If it was me I'd ring their customer service and be polite but persistent that i wanted a refund for the bank charge as it was their mistake, or i would shop elsewhere. I'd mention how much i have spent with them over the course of a year and ask if it was worth losing me as a customer over such a small amount.

Tesco once sent me a refund of £10 because they had a problem with their van and it was a couple of hours late, i didn't even ask them to either. Their store manager phoned me to apologise for them being late and asked if a £10 refund on my bill would make up for it :). On a smaller scale we ordered some dog food instead of cat food by mistake and phoned them to ask if we could take it back and they said no need we'll just refund you the money. They seem to bend over backward to keep customers happy.

Well, phoned them up earlier. As expected, it was my details on their records as the card which was selected for payment. I had no way of proving otherwise, so didn't get very far. :(
