dilemma Q9400 or a AMD Phenom II 955

As it says in the Title guys
witch is the best over all cpu?
Out of those two I'd say the 955BE.
But check if your current mobo would take the Q9400 because that would be a cheaper upgrade if it does.

Running most things you probably wouldn't notice much difference but I would go with the 955.
Depends if your overclocking or not... stock for stock the 955 would be a little faster - clock for clock I'd put my money on the Q9400 all the way.
Unfortunatly the Gigabyte P965 DS3 does not officially support 45nm CPUs - tho some work and some don't but theres no guarantees...
If your going for an all new setup I would reccomend going to i5 - will cost very slightly more but worth the money... otherwise if your into overclocking I'd say swap the motherboard for a gigabyte P43 or P45 board and get either the Q9400 or Q9550 - this will deffinatly see you through this current generation of CPUs and possibly beyond.

Yeh im into overclocking and i dont have the money for a i5.
