***Official DJ Hero Thread***

Bought mine at lunch, couldn't resist, looks amazing. It's nice to have a plastic instrument that isn't too difficult to store. Note, it is an instrument, ask Grand Master Flash.

Hehehe, that made me giggle too.

Well I've played around 10 songs so far and I must say that this game is really enjoyable! The mixes are top notch and don't just feel like a 2 random song mashup, there is also a great variety of music like hip-hop, dance, pop, classics and not every song feels like some hardcore dance anthem (about 2 tracks so far have sounded "dancey").

The controller is built great and feels really solid, it does have that clicky button toy feel to it but not half as bad as the GH2 controller. Graphics are pretty good but the character models can look a little rough at times but it's not as if that matters much ;)

If your into DJing I would strongly advice checking out this game but also if you just like rhythm games it's also very entertaining and more approachable to family/friends who don't play games due to the mixes.

Just need to get good at Hard now as it's so much more fun to play compared to Medium, there is a slight learning curve but I was good to go after 2 songs + the awesome tutorial.

There was a big competion in one of the big music stores in london today, to win this and a 360, DJ Shadow was going to playing it live a bit later on.
I had a play with it and thought it was pretty fun, i guess it was on easy as a i didnt have to use the cross fader. Once i knew what to do i enjoyed it, but for the price its not worth the money IMO, if it was about the £50-60 mark i would get it. Would make a change to playing GH or RB at parties, and some dont want to "ROCK OUT" at parties.

I need to have a go at this, as a reasonably big fan of GH (even if I'm not very good at it). It does seem a bit unjustifiable at it's present cost.

Hmmm... Ive always wanted some proper decks. But haven't ever used one before.

Would this actually teach me anything for when I finally get myself some decks?

Not really, in the same way Guitar Hero wouldn't help you play guitar. It will help improve your sense of rhythm if that's something you struggle with though.

Yeah it's nothing like using real decks at all, not even remotely similar. However, the game is damn good fun. I think it's very overpriced at £90 (and the £170 RRP for the Renegade edition is just insanity) but I've enjoyed my time with the game so far - it's worth checking out for sure.

Saw this in the shops of the weekend, looks loads of fun but as mentioned above by others I too and running out of space to store yet more gaming accessories, especially those that are fairly expensive.

Think I'll wait until this drops in price, maybe a new years bargain to be looking forward to like Guitar Hero III was last year.

Played this on a stand in my local gaming store last week, really not impressed and I'm quite fond of rockband style games.

I played this in Do not mention competitors! today and thought it was great fun. I jumped straight into hard difficulty without checking out the tutorials and really really enjoyed it, to the point where I was actually considering getting it instead of Modern Warfare 2. I'll definitely be looking to pick this up at some point, perhaps when it comes down a bit in price.

What would the renegade edition be?

I to am getting DJ hero from the mrs for xmas.. (She aint picked it up yet)

The Renegade Edition doesn't add anything extra to the game, but it does come with some slick pieces of hardware. In this giant box you get:

* A different version of the turntable controller with a shiny black finish and gold crossfader, effects dial, and platter grip.
* An exclusive double album of Jay-Z and Eminem material including greatest hits and unreleased tracks.
* A hardshell turntable carrying case that doubles as a stand.

Could have been tempted if it had a wider variety of music. I'll carry on with my Technics and CDJ's! :D
