It would be very unwise to change, unless they did something very clever with regards to scaling apps up and down for the transition period until programmers caught up. Anything with small text in would get murdered though.

Same here. It's a rectangular black thing that's all screen. All the buttons are there and unobtrusive... I don't really see what they can/should change. The thing's just a screen! I wouldn't want mine to be any smaller, personally, but I don't suppose I'd mind too much if it shrunk a bit. Ideally though, I like the shape as it is. They just need to keep working on the innards and improving it.

I used a customer's original iPhone the other day, love those things. Feel nice. Solid.

To keep up with the style of the times? All other phones and hardware does, so why not the iPhone? My HD has an even greater screen/bezel ratio than the iPhone but the styling has changed for the new one. The iPhone actually looks quite old fashioned due to the huge amount of bezel around the screen compared to most new phones. It needs a bigger screen/smaller size and same screen. I can't see them getting away with a smaller screen however.
