*** Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Thread ***

I managed to do alright for myself on COD4 getting the game months after release.

I really don't want to have to wait til xmas to play this, I wonder if I can get it as an early present? :D

Well for the 9 times I prestiged last on COD4, it was certainly easier at lvl 55 than at lvl 1. That was with the same kill-streaks throughout too.

It's not a massive issue as I'm sure knowing the maps is the bigger of the two advantages.

i am looking forward to trying this spec ops mode, looks pretty cool.Does anyone know if they have made the lobbys diffrent on mp so you can get two clans to play each other,or can you get 12 in a lobby and just split the teams?

I haven't prestiged once at COD4. :o

It seems pretty clear with all these recent releases that the past time of "pre ordering" offers not much benifits to anyone at all anymore.

I mean some people pre ordered for £45, granted lucky few got it a day or 2 early,

but the fact you can walk into a supermarket now and pick up the same game ON RELEASE DAY and pick it up for more than %50 off the RRP is insane,

ive had Fifa 10 and MW2 for less than £50, madness

if these companys had any decency, they would refund the diffrence to the people who are paying full price, but i guess they might not able to compete with the big supermarkets.

I agree that things often get blown out of proportion with games, just look at Mass Effect or GTA.

The interesting thing with this level though is listening to the comments that are coming out from actual gamers. I've been following Charlie Brooker on Twitter, who completed it yesterday, he has noted numerous times how crass it is, doesn't seem to make sense and that it's "set the game industry back ten years".

Bare in mind that's coming from a hardened media critic, who is an avid gamer.

Will be interesting to see how it is for myself this coming week, but when you have actual gamers saying its bad, it makes you wonder what Infinity Ward were thinking.

why has it set the industry back and why is it crass?

just wondering.... i am thinking of buying an xbox again to play this....

i think this is why they make a big deal out of pre orders, i mean i saw a pre order on a website for MW2 over 6 months ago,

i for one wont be pre ordering any 360 title in the near futurem it seems the bigger the title the more the discount

Thats why I think supermarkets do it so cheap to get more people generally buying their games from there rather than a game shop also with the hope we will pick up some red bull on the way out :p

i went into a gameshop to trade in a few games the other day and they had fifa for £36 or £37 pre owned, and yet supermarket were selling these for £25 on the weekend of release. They could have went to supermarket, bought laods of copies and put them in there pre order section and still made £ on them

they do, its not uncommon, i know of a local game shop that bought all of its fifa stock from tesco, £25 was cheaper than what they could bring the game in for

supermarkets use it to draw you in, but as long as you dont buy anything else, YOU WIN !
