I would have thought that the most they did would be to take a deposit, say 10%? To mark your place on the list with it.

IF you on about overclockers they take the full payment for what ever it is on pre-order, i guess they all do it but i wouldn't know as i only have used overs.

Oh I know it's overclockers. I meant that a deposit would be more fair.

Not everywhere takes the full amount as far as I know. Some don't even take any monies until dispatch.

I don't preorder stuff though, never have most probably never will.
 
The 5850 was the first thing i have pre-ordered and glad i did now after reading these forums i would have been waiting for a long time otherwise.
