Cheapest x58 mobo

I've been doing a little reading and my understanding is that the x58 boards will support the i9 and 6/8 core cpu's when they are out.

My question is what is this board (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-003-XF&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1283) missing that the more expensive boards have? Is it poorer for overclocking?

Doesn't seem to be any reviews of that particular motherboard.

Also are you aware that the 6 core gulftown processor will most likely set you back £1000.

Why pair a budget x58 board with an i9? Doesn't make sense to me.

I'm not planning an i9. But my thinking was an i7 920 would last 2 years (at least) and then my options would be open for newer CPU's by which time the price may be reasonable.

My thought process was that I'd go with a LGA1366 socket for future proofing.

I'm throwing lots of ideas around in my head at the moment but each idea seems to be more expensive than the last :(

What's that board missing? The ability to run. Seriously, from newegg like 90% of these are DOA. I'd much more reccomend something like that Foxconn.

I'd have to agree, although the Foxconn Bloodrage only has 3 memory slots, it seems to be a very solid performer and anyone who's bought one seems to recommend it.

For a couple of quid more wouldn't you go with this? -http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-159-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1283

I need spdif out so this MOBO might be the sweet spot.

The Bloodrage GTI also has a spdif out afaik if you plug the x-fi card in. From what I've read the UD3R and Bloodrage GTI are pretty evenly matched and both are solid boards.

A quicky...

Do any mobos support DDR2 and 3? - It would be a way of saving money short term. I'm guessing not, but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks, the more I think about it the more I realise I'm going to have to go down the second hand 775 route.

Thanks for your help guys.
