Stand-up comedy competition - Please vote :)

Cheers guys,

It's important to me that I get votes because people enjoyed the act, I'd like to do well based on ability rather than just hollow votes. So to those of you that enjoyed the videos and voted accordingly, I really appreciate the support, thank you :)

Ive watched all the clips and this is my order of preference. Ive got James Abbott first but noticed he had significantly more time than the others. He and you are far better than the rest imo.

JAMES ABBOTT
SEAN JUDGE
GEMMA LAYTON
MISS LONDON
NICO YEARWOOD
SIMON POPE
ILTAPH KHALIQ

Best of luck!

Meh, work net connection to slow to even vote / load a clip, keep it bumped and it will remind me to vote later on this evening ;)

The direct mic feed doesn't do any of the acts any favours. An ambient mic mixed in would make a world of difference.

I've also watched each act to see what you're up against. You owe me, Sean :p

James Abbott definitely has the strongest act. A likeable, assured performance with a personable delivery that makes up for his weaker material. Note the impact that his opening 'women and buses' line had - he'd done the hard work of winning the crowd over within the first minute. He also seemed to be enjoying himself, rather than cowering or gibbering under the spotlight. Very demonstrative, too - note the hand and face gestures, and the dynamic variations in his voice.

But Sean, you were easily the second best there [I can't believe the guy who felt he had to explain his 'speedos' joke, which was obvious to start with].

You were more confident here than in previous vids, and you didn't rush or appear too nervy.

One thing that occurred to me during your set - especially after your 'password' section, which you could make more tight - was that you might want to look at focussing your act on 'geek' comedy. This would allow you to portray a personality more, and give you more avenues to paint comedy scenarios. Sure, you'll lose some of the audience, but you'll gain more of a name for yourself among those who appreciate the extra geekness. The benefits of talking about topics you're passionate about should be obvious :)

Progressing nicely, sir! :)
