RAM blocks Grahics card on ASUS boards?

This may seem like a really odd or ridiculous query, but while I was browsing the mobo section of ocuk I came across the:

Asus P7P55D Pro P55 Motherboard

In the picture it looks as though the bottom end of the RAM slot would obstruct most decent sized cards put in the top PCI-E x16 slot.

Please tell me otherwise!

You will be OK, I would say, however you will definitely want to fit the RAM before fitting the graphics card. I doubt you would get the RAM slots open with a card in there.

From what i've read in reviews for that board the ram slots only have latches on one side and not the side nearest to the PCI-E slot.

There seem to be a lot of boards that are now using latches on one side of the DIMM slots.

I don't think you will run into any issues at all here tbh.

I have the P7P77D and an ATi 4890 and you can fit ram in fine becasue of the lack of latch at that side.

Yeah it will do Crossfire, although you'll go from 16x to 8x/8x on the PCIE channels (limitation of the P55 chipset).

8x/8x is a 2-3% loss compared to 16x/16x,nothing to worry about.
