Ensure all members of clan have the rest of the clan on the friends list.
Add one member of opposing clan to friend list.
Initiate private game.
Invite your clan members and opposition member from friends list.
Wait for opposition member to invite his team from his friends list.
Hope everything works and the connection is half decent.

And how do you counter the 0 ping host advantage?

Especially as you do not control who hosts so cannot split it evenly between the teams.

Hope that all other players are reasonably close geographically to the host.
Have a completely unfair game because one player has a 0 ping.

More control for IW.

Means they can pretty much be the only ones to add new content, new maps etc. and when they are the only source of new material, they can charge it for much more easily with no competiting maps from users.
 
The 0 ping thing.. Could the host not sit in spec while the game is played therefore creating a level playing field??

Leaves TDM at 5v5 max and relies on the game telling you who the host is, i'm not sure it does this, so I don't think it'd even be possible to tell who needed to sit out.
