Really need a new PSU. mine is only 3 weeks old but too noisy.

would the 400W (Be Quiet! Straight Power E7 400W Power Supply) be enough for my specs. dont want to spend too much
 
is there a way to test to see how much wattage i need? as far as i know theres not really any guides out there.

also does my current 650W PSU use 650W of power all the time? ive moved out of my parents house and now i pay the bills :D
 
You can get a meter that you plug in and plug your device into which tells you the wattage being consumed.

The PSU will only supply the power demanded by the components connected to it, it will draw more than this from the wall because of it's own efficiency.

Your pc would be fine with a decent 400W supply but it will cost practically the same on leccy using the 650W you have already.
