Some stupid **** has decided to smash my rear windscreen.
Called the insurance who have referred me to a windscreen company and i should have it replaced by 13:00.
I’m so annoyed!

Sorry my car is dirty.

Nothing was taken it seems it was just an act of vandalism.

Or maybe it just went pop.

Happens on hatches occasionally due to the stresses induced by slamming the hatch all the time. Thermal stresses at this time of year won't help either. My stepdads Astra did it a couple of years back in a supermarket car park whilst he was walking back towards it from the shop.

Seems someone shares my hatred of Saxos :D

Unlucky though fella.

Lol they are quite bad but still...

Any evidence of what they hit it with? Is that 'boot spoiler' usualy stuck to the glass?

No evidence of what was used.

Yes the spoiler is usualy stuck to the glass :S

I can see by the shape of the smash that it was hit on a certain point. as the cracks circle the centre left side. :(

If the spoiler was originally stuck to the glass, then some twerp might have been trying to get it off and broke the glass..

It going bang on its own is also a possibility :)

EDIT - ^^ Beaten to it.

I still wouldn't rule it out.

This happened to a neighbours Clio a couple of years ago and we thought it had been vandalised.

Oh. You never know really. I didnt know that could happen though, any reason on why it would? Surly it must have been weakened already for it to just shatter?

Normally vandalism would involve them chucking something through the screen rather than hitting it with something, I'm subscribing to the theory it shattered itself as well. Imagine that happening while you were driving, scary. :D

On a lighter note if you look at the outlined of the where the glass has shattered it looks like the profile view of a horse/donkey. :) (on the first pic anyway)

Lol, so it does :)

Sorry to hear about the issue, always sucks when things like that happen :(

On the Saxo VTS i had many moons ago, the spoiler wasn't glued to the glass, the glass had 2 cut-outs in the top corners of the rear screen for the spolier to be fitted through. Only know this as i had exactly the same thing happen as this, but they half-inched the spolier. Guy from Auto-glass offered me the choice of the 2 differen't types of rear screen, cut-outs or solid screen. As the cost of the rear spolier was a few hundred quid from Citroen i didn't bother replacing it.

unlucky!
but if there's no foreign object on the parcel shelf, i'd go with it smashing by itself

unless someone already took the donkey's head ;)
