*** Street Fighter IV League (Season 2) ***

I'm sure Artheas will be up for it, so am I, even though I don't fancy my chances! :o

To make things abit more interesting I will use both my characters, Ryu and Sagat. I am thinking as a play off final, we will make it as follows:

Adz (RYU) vs Artheas (RYU)

Adz (SAGAT) vs Artheas (RYU)

Adz (RYU) vs Artheas (GOUKEN)

Adz (SAGAT) vs Artheas (GOUKEN)

All games best out of 5 rounds, each game we note the score and total it all up at the end. Overall winner is the one who wins most rounds. What do you reckon Artheas? Will be fun :D

BTW I need afew days to (1) get well and (2) practice! ;)

Just a thought. Ive won 28 rounds and lost 16 and lost 3 matches (like Arth and Adz).

Does that mean if I win every single match and game (without losing a round, could I win this? I think not but for some reason surely its possible? Or are there not enough rounds for me?)

Tbh Im just curious. In reality I will have to yield the rest of my games guys simply cause I have started my revision for my MBA exams (plus the wife will kick a stink if she sees me playing instead of studying :D)

Isn't it a maximum of 4 points per fight? so with 16 remaining fights, Cav can get a maximum of 64 points from his remaining games. It's not 18 remaining fights, if that's what you were thinking :p since someone dropped from the league.

That's quite an interesting idea, it will certainly make for better videos than more Ryu mirror matches! But i sorta feel you're putting yourself at a bit of a disadvantage by using Sagat since you're not as good with him as you are Ryu.

Oh, yeah.. my bad sorry :)

Maximum Cav could get would be 101 points, with a rounds difference of +60.

People who played the drop out... did they have their points taken away or still included?

Also +60 and 101 points, does this mean I could still do it  or not?

No, cause Arth and Adz have 106. Also no one played platypus, so there was no points to deduct.

But look at the number of games I have lost man, it doesnt make sense to me.... I have lost the same amount of games as the others  ?
Doesnt it mean I still could at least make the same number of points?

Please break it down for this feable novice :D

You've played 12 games, so 16 remaining.
Currently have 37 points.

So assuming all 3-0 wins, which means you would get 4 points per game (3 for the 3 rounds won and 1 for a bonus for the win):

(16 * 4) + 37 = 101 points

It is a bit confusing, as if anyone looked at the table they would assume you could have won it since you have the same number of losses as Adz, yet currently have lost less rounds. But the killer is that you lost a few games 3-0 which means you cannot achieve the same number of rounds won as Adz/Arth. If those 3-0 losses had have 3-1 or 3-2 losses then you could have, since you would have scraped some points from those even though you lost as you get points for rounds won.

So lets say instead of losing 3-0 to Arth and losing 3-0/3-1 to kingrashid you instead lost all of those games 3-2, then you could have won since you've had gotten 5 extra points from those games, bringing your overall total to (101+2+1+2) = 106 points.

The confusing part is the rounds lost - it means nothing to your overall score. For example Person A won all their games 3-2, and Person B won all their games 3-0 (technically not possible since Person A would have to play Person B but let's just ignore that bit...) then both of them would have the same amount of points as the points don't add in your rounds difference, they only matter for the rounds you won.

It might be worthwhile next season working out a system that uses the rounds difference rather than only the rounds won, as currently it is just as predictable as the other seasons in that you can see who can and can't win mid-season, such as you - only played 12 games but you cannot win - so where's the incentive to play :)

Well all the competitive gamers seem to be fleeing the SFIV scene (For Blazblue, Tekken 6 BR and HDR) so I suppose I'd better start putting up with online play :(

When's the next league?

I know but I don't mind, it's all for fun. Plus its been awhile since we had a session so I'm all for it. :)

Kreeeee, I am more then happy to take part in any future leagues/tournys but organising them will probably be abit too much to take on. Flibby has literally taken over this one and done an awesome job at it too, so I will happily step aside and let him take over for future ones if he wants too. :)

Well lemme know when you want to play those games.

And thanks to Adz and Flibby for running this league, esp Flibby with the awesome table and the frequent updates!
I'm starting to want a tournament more than league style games though, because i feel there's not that much excitement/tension/pressure on games played at the start of the league. A winner's/loser's bracket would also mean people get to play at least 2 games :)

No no.. shoo. You go away. You're not allowed to play online cause you and Margaret have dissed online play too much :D

Flibby, cheers for the explanation. I think I get what you mean :)

Good games mpower, I think that's only the 5th-ish set of games I've played online where lag wasn't an issue for most things.

Off to make Fajhita's!
