Yes i know what you mean rolypolyman.

For some people its a bit of one-up-man-ship over their friends, for some they have the cash to burn.

For me I can't afford a new card every new generation so try to pick a good one when it comes out. My current card is a 8800 GTS (320) which was Nvidia's last really good GPU (or last if you believe the hype) and considering how good the 5850 is and its value (at the time of launch anyway) I was considering buying one and still am, but not until the price dips back to around the £200 mark

I usually update my graphics card just before or after Xmas. Due to whats going on with the current pricing, not all Ocuk's fault, looks like I will be waiting a bit longer. Still I think in the cold light of day it makes no sense to upgrade my graphics just now anyway, no DX11 games to play and my current card plays everything else at 1680X1050 fine.:)

Apart from keeping us up to date with the 5800 series stock levels and pricing and all his other duties maybe he'll set you up with a date :D

Unless its his wife/girlfriend, then he won't..... probably :eek:

The pricing is ridiculous, I have already paid £10 extra to go from an Asus to an XFX which I was promised last week... Now they want another £20 to go from that to a Gigabyte. I'm not very happy. Can't use my new computer =/
