Hotels in Bath

Hi all.

Over the xmas period I will be going to Bath with the gf. Was just looking at hotels in the area and wondered if someone could recommend a website for decent hotel reviews? Or, if you've been there just recommend a hotel!

I've not really booked hotels before, the only one I know is trip advisor. Is that fairly reliable? A lot of review sites I've looked at a re pretty unreliable in the fact they only have the odd review or the reviews are ridiculous, i.e. people giving the hotel a 1* rating because the weather was rubbish :confused:

Budget is sub £100pp (although cheaper would be better!) for the night and must include breakfast!

Only place I've booked with is superbreak as I've booked a couple of hotel/theatre breaks so the package works out cheaper. Is there any websites that do deals based just on the hotel which might work out cheaper than booking direct with the hotel?

Hotel rooms are per room not per person - so your budget is £200 a night which to be honest should allow you to stay almost anywhere you want if you book far enough in advance. It's a hugely generous budget.

As Fox said, even £100/night will get you somewhere very decent.

I'm pretty sure any 4-5* hotel would do nicely, seen as (As the others pointed out) it would nicely fit your budget

Where in Bath? Dead in the centre, outskirts, nearby towns/villages?

Well I had a quick look at prices and they seemed to be quite expensive hence the budget. Ideally we'd like to spend as little as possible but staying in something nicer than a travelodge! Will probably look at a nice 4* or a very cheap 5* if we can stretch to it.

Needs to be near Bath rugby club and somewhere nice to eat which kind of limits us to the middle of town. Will be arriving by train so ideally want somewhere within walking distance (don't mind a long walk!).

The only problem with one night at a nice hotel is that you have to be up and out by 10am which, I dunno about you, tends to ruin the occasion a bit. Wish you could pay a little extra for a 1pm checkout time!
