**The Dragon Age Origins Thread **

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, this thread is too long to keep up with when all my non-work time is being pumped into the game...

A tip on unlocking Specialisations - once unlocked they stay unlocked for all games, even previous saved games, so you can spend your money on those tomes and then reload to have both cash and spec! This also works for plot related unlocks, so you can make morally objectional choices and then reload with no damage done :)

But the latter is basically cheating :p.

Wardens keep is actually pretty good, you get good items from it and also eventually the Party chest, is really quite helpful.

Is the chest at your party's camp?

As there is a mod that put's a chest by the guitar, for those that don't have it yet.

This has to be the game of the year in my opinion.

It's even stopped me playing Aion at the moment.

Altho Aion is just a grind fest in the plus 40 bracket. :(

I'd just like to say I'm disgusted by the npc in party camp that tries to sell you DLC. DLC that was available at launch (lol).

Fully star out swear words! disgusts me.

No, my loads are almost immediate but do have an ssd drive.

Maybe your comp is not up to spec?

It would be a rubbish RPG if it was easy wouldn't it?

Keep trying you will work it out. It is a great game.

I doubt it's due to my spec, GTA4 loads quicker than this.

Spec: E6300 (Old type C2D, 1.86ghz version) @ 3.2ghz
4GB DDR800 Ram
1TB Samsung F3 (Which the game is running from)
ATi Radeon 4890
Win7 64 bit (RC)

When it actually starts loading it's very fast, but it takes a while to actually attempt to start loading, strange.

Wardens Keep is only £4.76.

You'd rent a 11/2 hour movie for the same price, wouldn't you?
Well that depends. So far RPG DLC that I have encountered in the past has been in essence - crap. I refer to the DLC for Oboiboibin, Fallout 3 and Mass Effect to what I can recall at the moment.

How much gameplay would something like WK contain? I think I'll hold off until I know more about DA as I can only spare an hour's play each day until this weekend where I'll heavily play & read about the title.

And you don't have enough points when you first get there too (assuming it uses the points generated whilst playing through the game.)

Do not quote swearys!

Edit: Did I? I thought they were starred out?

Don't talk to him :/

+1 for DampCat.

They have to sell their dlc somehow, I personally think its a very clever way of doing it. It fits quite well it being there, adds an element of continuity rather than having the fella just show up one day going "Guess what I just found!". Not that much money for it anyway is it? Not exactly sure though.

I agree, it's actually a well thought out advert, rather then bombarding us with it every time we log in - lets face it the game is published by EA, we could log into a "BUY WARDENS KEEP LOLS!" pop-up every time we logged in.

£7 iirc.

So there I was, tired, beaten and in need of some womanly effection. I stumbled upon a bar in the district where the lady of the Tavern offered me Females, Men or both. I opted for the female.

Cut scene to some moaning from the lady...and then the game faded back in. My character stood there, no clothes apart from a small pair of undies. Nothing out of the ordin....wait a minute...WHY IS HE COVERED IN BLOOD?

Oh god....What Have I done? Did I kill her? No...Oh jesus, she must...it must...that...time..of...the..

To make matters worse, I no longer had a sword and shield, a good sword and shield I might add!

Has this happened to anyone else? Some prostitute running off with your weapons? Must be a bug I say.

Aion is a grind fest after level 10.

Technically all MMOs are a grindfest, its merely a question of how well the MMO hides the grind. Mind you, I suppose I could widen that even further to include non-MMOs. Diablo for instance is essentially just a grind fest of killing mob after mob...I suppose the same could be said of most first person shooters too.

Still cant make my mind up about whether or not to get Dragon Age...I really would love a demo so that I can see whether or not I will like the pause and play. Wish there was an option to make combat turn based, oh and a multiplayer option. I would rush out right now and smack my money on the counter for it if those were present.

Does anyone know if there is a demo planned so that I can check it out?

Made me guffaws.
