Nice photos, they've all been retouched though - were originally B&W.

they often appear alongside monochrome photographs that have been retrospectively retouched in colour (such as the photos of British troops in this article).

Awesome, very moving. We have to remember that this was a World War, not a battle, not a conflict, not a skirmish, but a war, on a very scarily big scale. Guys of our age (and younger) were there, on those fields.
