either way anything more than £25 for a PC game is just wrong...totally wrong...

PC games were £35 ten years ago, go figure.

£35 ~ 1999 - minimum wage introduced at £3.60 per hour.
£35 ~ 2009 - minimum wage @ £5.80 per hour

60% rise and the product is at the same price (or less).

I think it is fair to say the introduction of the minimum wage had many implications and realistically not many people have had a 60% increase in wages, but inflation has not been at 0% for a decade so games are cheaper than they have ever been, whether they are still overpriced is another matter. I think considering the length of some games they are and the reason they were so expensive years ago was due to it not yet being mainstream and as a niche market consumers were willing to pay.

but come on £40 quid is more than it can be had for 360 and ps3, they can be sold on, you cant sell the steam version and you dont even get a disk and manual its just shocking £35 was pushing it now its taking the wee wee lol.

The price MW2 is being sold for is a loss leader as it will get people in the shops.

The PC version will sell much less units and is not worth the shelf space, let alone subsidising.

I do agree that £35 is overpriced for steam, as the overheads are minimal products being sold through a long curve model should be cheaper, but if the demand is there why not.

What a waste of money. Worst game I've ever played.

Reasons:

no console (=no additional commands - yes im aware you can edit the cfg)
no mod support
people camping in every corner possible
hackers already
crap FOV which gives me a headache
overpowered perks / kill streaks
worst aimers in the world being able to still kill you somehow
radar stuck to your gun which shows where the enemies are?? (unless you use a stupid cold blooded perk)
no competitive hint to it at all
crappy hosts who always disconnect
edit: no leaning... WTF? LOL..
we're on to like the 7th COD and auto-climb still exists on space not an individual key

did i miss any?

I bought Borderlands and Left 4 Dead 2 for 20£ using the Co Op package.

How can they even justify then wanting me to spend £40 on steam for 1 PC game?

I agree with that, what a load of toss.

#1 not enough players (9v9!?!)
#2 the guns with loads of bling look stupid i.e. futuristic not modern.

When did the min wage go to £5.80 an hour? I was under the impression its still £3.60ph.

I can guarantee that there's a gun in the world that has a red dot sight and a grenade launcher attached to it, infact I'm willing to bet that they're commonly used in the US army. The guns with 'bling' aren't blingy, it's a stupid name for the perk and gives people like you a reason to moan about something :)

edit the cfg then

people camping in every corner possible
because that's confined to just this game, never happened before?
hackers already
again, because that's confined to just this game?
crap FOV which gives me a headache
edit the cfg
overpowered perks / kill streaks

sound like a sore loser to me :)

it's crap and 90% of the time the UAV will be active anyway
no competitive hint to it at all
:(
crappy hosts who always disconnect

I think PC games should be £29.99, or under

most good pc games are available through steam, your not actually getting a physical product and a pdf manual, my main reason for the price change would be as games are easily downloadable from other places, sometimes a week before release, i feel this must effect the price more than the £5/10 difference between PC and Console.

He's just one of those troll folk.

But most of what he said is fact, Lots of the things you mention happen in all online FPS, i mean what can IW do about camping and people obsessed with hacking it,

Mibbe a larger FOV would make fragile wee me sick, so how can IW win with that, it is changeable if you go looking

He saved me 5 mins.
