100hz 720p VS 50hz 1080p

dont forget display size -Ad-, its quite obvious on a 50" at 8ft.

It most certainly isn't, and I have 6/4 vision.

Took an awful lot of straining and playing with films to eventually come to a conclusion. But as I have always said, as soon as there is motion detail is naturally lost, thus both look the same unless for a lot of the time from an average viewing distance.

I was quite paranoid about judder before I bought my first blu-ray player. Ive seen judder on my PC when watching 24p material and I was pretty sure it would annoy the heck out of me.

My OLD panny TV does not support 24p in any form only 50 and 60hz, so bad from the point on 24p movies. But in practice I've only noticed the judder once or twice and Im starting to get quite a good collection of Blu-Rays now. It's way less noticeable than the stuttering I was getting on 24p material on the PC.

For a 37inch TV and a sensible viewing distance, than 720p is sufficient, and plasma's are less prone to motion blur than LCD's anyway, 100hz digital processing is just a gimmick.

100% recommendation for the Panny plasma.

PS, on my old Sony CRT I loved the 100hz processing, because it removed the "refresh" flicker common to CRT displays, but neither plasma or LCD screens flicker at lower frequency's so its not such a problem.

unless films are fully of panning scenes that i cant agree with that. besides it isnt just film my display is used for, honestly i can tell the differnce. i couldnt on my 40" at the same distance.

i go to a pub with quite a few large tv in ... and one of the is so bad with the footy is laughable...the movement judder is scary

I agree with that for different formats other than films.

I just watch far too many interesting, bonkers and action orientated films so enjoy a good bit of panning. Stop watching talking films and chick flicks :p ;)
