Will be getting this next week, so I thought we should have an official thread for the game discussion here. Below is some info :p

A special GAME exclusive collectors edition will also be available!

Might get some of us off CoD:MW2/Dragon Age for a bit, who knows! :D

The first Assassins Creed was a very decent action game, one can only hope this improves on its excellent formula!

Official web-site: http://www.assassinscreed.com/

Confirmed Release Date: November 20, 2009 (UK)

Confirmed Platforms: PS3 / X360 / PC / PSP

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Official storyline of the game (according to Sebastien Puel, the Producer of the PS3/X360/PC version):

Puel said:
To help the assassins in their quest, Desmond will be exploring his DNA to find another ancestor's memory: Ezio Auditore Di Firenze; a nobleman who lived at the end of the 15th Century in Italy. Betrayed by the ruling families of Italy, Ezio embarks upon an epic quest for vengeance. To his allies, he will become a force for change - fighting for freedom and justice. To his enemies, he will become a boogey man - dedicated to the destruction of the tyrants abusing the people of Italy. On his quest for vengeance, Ezio - and Desmond through Ezio's story - will uncover a much bigger plot: A conspiracy rooted in Assassin's Creed and that still impact the world of Desmond - our very world.

Key Features -

  • EZIO, A NEW ASSASSIN FOR A NEW ERA
Ezio Auditore da Firenze is a young Italian noble who will learn the ways of the assassins after his family was betrayed and he looks to seek vengeance. He is a lady's man, a free soul with panache yet has a very human side to his personality. Through him, you become a master assassin.

  • RENAISSANCE ITALY
Italy in the 15th century was less a country and more a collection of city-states where families with political and economic strength began to take leadership roles in cities like Florence and Venice. This journey through some of the most beautiful cities in the world takes place in a time in history where culture and art were born alongside some of the most auspicious stories of corruption, greed and murder.

  • A NEW-FOUND FREEDOM
You will be able to perform missions when you want and how you want in this open-ended world that brings back free-running and adds elements such as swimming and even flying to the adventure. The variety in gameplay adds another layer for you to truly play through the game any way you choose.

  • DYNAMIC CROWD
Discover a living, breathing world where every character is an opportunity for the player. Blending in with the crowd is easier, working with in-game characters provide ample rewards but can also lead to surprising consequences.

  • BECOME A MASTER ASSASSIN
Perfect your skills to become a master assassin where you brandish new weapons, learn to disarm enemies then use their weapons against them and assassinate enemies using both hidden blades.

So, who else is excited? :D

I'd be more excited if you lost the apostrophe :D

To be honest I'm not sure how I feel. I want to play it as I did like the first one, I'm just hoping its less repetitive this time around.

Cant believe we got to post #3 until the word repetitive was used. :p

Will definitely pick this up at some point, enjoyed the first but as every man and his dog has commented, it did become tedious after a while - more so than most games I felt. Hoping for good things from the sequel, Venice looks awesome.

I feel the same but everything I've read says this one is much better. Hope so the setting and atmosphere of the first was top notch. The game and fighting was pap.

Yeah the old one did drag on a bit in places and felt a bit samey, but that was its main flaw and im sure the developers must have picked up on it and sorted it out for this release to be fair :p

There are a couple of reviews around at the moment in magazines -

Official Playstation UK - 9/10
Official Playstation US - 5/5

and Official Xbox Magazine UK - 9/10

Definately getting it had my pre-order in for ages only £36.85 if you look around. Also have high hopes for this as Ubisoft said they had 450 people working on it and took people from the teams who created Splinter Cell, Prince Of Peria & AC1 so hopefully betwen them all they managed to improve it (I loved AC1 as it was anyway :D).

I cancelled my Black Edition the other week, regretting it now as Play aren't selling it anymore :(

Not sure if I really want this game or not though tbh, I've played a lot of this type of game recently what with Batman & Uncharted 2 & 1 so I think I'm probably more bothered about now getting that particular limited edition than anything  :p

The first one imo was great! I didn't get pulled in by all the hype surrounding the game. I rented the game about a month after release and thought it was fantastic! :)

Still have mine on pre-order, ordered the black edition with the figurine...will go well with my original Altair figurine:p:D

£70 though:eek:...been an expensive 2 mths...first forza 3 limited edition, then COD MW2 which cost me £43 and now Assassins Creed 2 which is setting me back £70:p...then buying 2 new Blackberries at £400 a shot...stupidly expensive month so far...good thing i got my fat bonus to cover my toys:p:D

I think the review embargo is up at 5 this evening so we should see reviews from then onwards; this was according to the Eurogamer twitter.

Not seen much advertisement for this. Well compared to the first one anyway. So I was a little sceptical about the release date only being a few days away!

I'll be buying this on day one as I loved the first. :)

The only flaw with the first was the repetitive nature of the missions, beyond that it was a great game that flowed well.
I hope they dont turn the game into a series fest (call of duty anyone?!)

Ordered the Black edition online.

Have the first one as a limited collectors boxset so it had to be done :)

Don't think I'll bother playing it until Christmas, what with MW2 taking all my time.
