As anyone who has this mobo knows the pcix1 slot is useless due to the heatsink in the way,so has anyone managed to get this card working on this mobo? I dont know if it is safe/should work in the 4xslot i cant install it in 16x due to SLI :( Anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated I dont really wanna have to just stick to OB when i have this card!

Well i have tried it in the 4x slot... it seems to kind of work but i think the drivers screw up the OS as then you cant use any apps! Before with this card the drivers wouldnt install if the floppypower wasnt connected but this time it installed and then when i try to bring up the control center it says the power cable not detected even though it is!
Anyone ?

I'm using this in the the top 4x PCI-E slot with no problems what-so-ever (windows 7 pro x64)
@badtez - I would complete un-install the drivers and start again. What OS are you using ?

Common fault. The white plastic on the power connector is loose on these cards and gets moved after you have disconnected the power lead so when you reconnect it, it doesn't make full contact with the pins anymore. You need to carefully unconnect the power lead and push the white plastic on the card as far back as you can.

I had this on my card and it drove me mad for days until I came across the fix on the internet.

don't use the drivers from the cd

use the latest ones from the asus website

and do what Greebo said

Thx for replys guys ;) Am on win7 64bit. I tried the latest drivers ending in "75" if i remember right, these caused the screw up with other apps. Surely it shouldnt stop all my other apps IE etc from opening regardless of if my card was connected right or not?
Wel i will try fiddling with the white housing round the pins and a fresh install and report back, but im sure i read a post somewhere on here from someone who had a problem with the driver killing other apps?

If you're finding the windows 7 64bit drivers are messing you around, use the Vista 64 bit drivers. I did that on my D2 and it solved the problems I was getting, at least till new drivers come out.
