Anyone else in South East England witnessing what appears to be the northern lights?

Im seeing a pale greenish light moving sporadically around an area of the sky in the north-westerly direction. Its couldy with clear patches but you can see the light easily. Must be very unusual round these parts - never thought they could be seen this far south. Its nice.

It's very odd if you're seeing the Aurora Borealis that far South, generally you don't tend to see it much further South than the Northern half of Scotland and even that's not all that regular as far as I'm aware.

If you can though get pictures of it. I'd be surprised if it doesn't make the news since I can't say I've heard of it this far South.

It has been known to be that far south, it's usually linked to very high solar activity and very rare.

Its gone now. Lasted from about 6 (when I first noticed it) to about 8.30. Spread a bit further up into the sky for a while and the streaks became long and fast moving. Ive honestly never seen anything like that. I tried getting a photo but to be honest it looks naf and I can't pick up the light at all. Next time it turns up I'll be ready.

Keep watching the skies. ;)
