I just played Raef Bjayou (apparantly) on MW2 on the PS3. His PSN ID was raeff. He kept saying "I'm from apprentice". A quick mute on my end quickly shut him up.

So, have you played anyone famous?
 
Not that I'm aware of but then I'd guess that most truly famous people wouldn't necessarily announce the fact that they. Supposedly Robin Williams came out and said he was a big BF2 player a couple of years back but no idea what his game name was. But having played a lot of BF2 I guess I may have played against him some time.

But I have played someone famous IRL at laser quest, Mel Gibson. Was quite odd going up against Lethal Weapon/Mad Max. :eek:
Seemed a nice guy at the time but he was there with a couple of his kids. Had a chat at the end and compared score cards. I did him 2-1 on kills. :D
 
played on the same server as samuel l jackson ;)

eve-online server though which at the time had 20k players online at peak times so i probably never saw him ingame lol.

I regularly play Heroes of newerth / Call of duty aswell as go to lan parties with dignitas clan member garpy who was and still is no1 at Half life deathmatch in the world aswell as coming close to no1 in quake4 :D
 
wayne rooney plays fifa all the time, his old tag was wazza10 or something similar but he had to change it as everyone realised it was him

Oh and Jermaine Pennant was rumoured to be addicted to CoD

Didnt he say once that he played Day Of Defeat a lot back in the day, under the tag 'MilleniumMan'...????

Apparantley took his laptop everywhere with him, and only used Hotels with a broadband connection..(quite rare 5-6 years ago) so he could get his online fix...:)

I've been in several races with Dale Earnhardt Jr in iRacing, mostly Late Models but I was far too slow (both then and probably now) to actually be racing him for position though :p
 
Not really.

A former Quakeworld clanmate of mine played Champions League football but isn't famous per se.

Obviously I've played against a lot of 'progamers' but none of those are famous outside the world of gaming with the possible exception of Fatal1ty due to his sponsorship deals and Sujoy due to his media appearances.

When you think about it, gaming is fairly mainstream now and it's likely that many famous people under the age of 35 grew up playing games, so it's probably not that rare that they do. Professional footballers are nearly all in that age bracket and have buckets of cash for fancy pcs, all the console, elite broadband connection etc, so I bet loads of them play online, albeit incognito.
