Wow. Nice one Cob. I have massive problems beating Chelsea/Liverpool/Man City/Arsenal.

What tactics/instructions did you use to beat Chelsea there? And did they have a full strength team or not?

Yip they were full strength, and so was I

Tactics were pretty much the same as I always play. Switched from Attacking to Control after I went 2-0 up as Chelsea have a nasty habit of pulling back from 2-0 down against me, but things happily continued.

Yip as always. I like my teams to to play with plenty of width.

I'm beginning to think "Control" is the best tactic for pulling off a win, particularly away or against stronger teams at home. I've had far more success with York City (if you call 17th in the Blue Square Premier "success") than in my first game as Darlington and I'm convinced more than individual players the game sub-routine is somehow finding a sweet spot with the use of this tactic and "mild" team talk options!

i havent read through the entire thread very long.

is there any way to force vsync on when playing the match in 3d as i get awful tearing?
i have vsync enabled in ccc and with rivatuner d3d overrider

Can't recall seeing an option IN FM for Vsync. Does enabling it in CCC not work then? Perhaps something to check over on the SI Forums if that's the case.

nah enabled in ccc and d3d overider, ive altered the pitch view 90% better now,just have to get to grips with the new layout as i havent played fm since 09 ,looks very impressive so far.

After various false starts and getting myself back into FM again, ive settled at AC Milan.

Mass and I mean mass clearout ensued, although only Gattuso (15m Chelsea) and Pato (30m Man Utd) left the club permanently, the rest of the older stars are having a years loan ie Ronaldinho (Man City), Pirlo (Chelsea), Seedorf (Barcelona) etc.

So with barely a squad left, I embarked on a huge spending spree splashing out £242 million on 12 new players:

Cassano (20m Sampdoria)
Jovetic (35m Fiorentina)
Walcott (17.5m Arsenal)
Van Der Vaart (9m Real Madrid)
Zapata (30m Udinese)
Vargas (40m Fiorentina)
Kryvstov (3m Metalurg)
Subotic (20m Dortmund)
Guarente (12.5m Atalanta)
Lavezzi (25m Napoli)
Nani (15m Man Utd)
Defour (15m Standard)

Now ive not cheated/used the editor at all.... basically every player has been signed with their fee paid over 48months, so the club just let me keep spending

Solid start though, 10pts from 12 in the league and an away win over Salzburg to kick off the Champions League group phase.

WHAT at some of the prices you paid. Even VdV should be cheaper, lol! Your chairman is gonna kill you in a season or two time.

Have played about 20 games in my First Season playing properly without editor, with Arsenal. Am currently 5th in the league. Had a terrible start, losing 2-1 to Burnley in the Carling Cup. Drawing 2-2 with West Ham and being beaten by Ruben in the Champions League. But i've fought back hard, signed some decent players and have just beaten Man Utd 3-2, beat Chelsea 1-0 and drew with Real Madrid in the Champions League and gained qualification! Had Rangers, Rubin and RM. Quite hard.

Have got Spurs away, not looking forward to that. Hope i can win the title and CL and FA Cup. Fingers crossed!

And what is "Harmony"? and how do you fix it when 15 players complain the squad doesnt have "any"?

Yeah the values are inflated, but to get them over 48 months that how it has to be it seems (fair enough too). I work it out to be say 60m per year to pay.... manageable if I can win everything

Oh and Pato, well it bought in 30m which equated to about another 100m over 48months for me to spend.

January is going to be a boost:

Hugo Lloris (30m Lyon) desperate for a keeper so this is ideal
Mamadou Sakho (28m PSG)
Ricardo Montolivo (32m Fiorentina)

EDIT: (some bad, but also good news)
John Obi Mikel (15m Chelsea) cancelled due to EU rules
Mauro Zarate (38m Lazio)

Hopefully they all go through. As for my balance its £60m at the minute, but im losing on average of £5m per month

Balance just took a £20m hit as I had to free up a lot of reserves (Inzaghi, Dida etc) to reduce the wagebill in order to allow the Zarate deal.

£370,000,000

a questionable way of doing things, however one thats pretty much being followed by many teams in the prem, loads of staggered payments and praying that you get decent tv money each year :S
