Stuff you know that others wouldn't know because of your job.

In my last job I learn the probation service in London is pretty flawed.

I also learnt about 2 new super prisons that were planning to be built but then got scrapped.

Holy mother of god. 85k on CCTV for a pub that serves food?!? Is that how much it costs these days?

It costs the underground £1000 for a metal bracket to fit the camera to.

It's costing the LUL £35m to move equipment from one room to another 5 metres away to prepare for Crossrail.

I don't work there but I know someone high up.

When you send text messages they can be read by humans..

Now SMSCs can store as encrypted, if the option is set. However some SMSCs allow the administrators to read the current text messages within the SMSCs on the terminal - clear as day.

Then there's the audit files of text messages stored in numerous systems by each vendor.. the text is not usually encrypted as a text file and can be accessed by any of the support staff at the command line...

In the US, the agencies can tap any number they want with the ability to delay, pause and resume messaging.

Your life equates to 37,000 GBP (back in 1997) so the crash position serves to purposes - (a) kill you quickly so the company doesn't have to pay for hospital care, (b) keep your skull and more importantly your teeth near to your body in the case of an accident..

A colleague who does the maths behind the insurance risks told me that 7 people die each year whilst attempting to put socks on whilst doing down stairs.

hrm, not much i can, or what to, talk about.

Loads of silly stuff about ecommerce like the average cart abandonment for an online store is ~ 75-80%
