Some new stoppers for the 330d

who carries a footpump in their car anyway?
i thought the whole point of not having a spare was to save weight :p

Yes indeed!

I'm desperately trying to think where else I've read this opinion on here...

Simples, brake with plastic tyres and see how quickly they lock up / ABS kicks in. Brake with normal tyres and see how much quicker you stop / don't lock up / don't kick the ABS in

How much are the calipers, that's where the money is

Not that much at all iirc. Think you can get them for about £700, maybe less if you have decent contacts. Whole kit, inc. CSL disks, pads, braided hoses and carriers can be had for about £1,100 exc any fitting costs.

They look nice they should be standard on the faster BMWs and the M cars like Mercedes do with at least big set of 4 pots on most cars. Everyone always comments on the brakes being poor on a M3/5 as they fade too quickly I am sure a set of these would sort that out.

I've never had runflats, I've had about 5-6 punctures in 8 years and have never had one where I couldn't reinflate the tyre using a footpump and drive to a tyre place for it to be repaired

...and to be the ying to your yang. I have only had one puncture in 10 years and whatever caused it ripped a big hole in the tyre with some of the steel wires poking through. No amount of tyre weld in a can would have plugged that puppy up.

You don't want to know the price of the discs! I enquired late last week, BMW UK only have one available  at £117+VAT each!

Not available anywhere else but I know where to get a pair for £120. Almost makes sense to buy a spare set when funds allow.

Every puncture i have seen is drivable at least to the nearest kwik fit.

Although they are not cheap the money you would save by buying non run flats will negate the cost considerably.

What did she do before run flats?
