I always assumed these to be nice little run-arounds, especially as they seem to hold their value so well and sell easily, had no idea they rusted so badly, though.

Something like this would have been a good in-between for the other half when the Yaris goes, seems like too much risk though.

To be honest Sam's old one sounds like it was on of a bad batch that was supposedly recalled and replaced by Ford. The only rust you'll see if any is on the arches and the door shuts where water accumulates.

They are fundamentally reliable and not a ticking timebomb.
