Being asked to leave for not buying drink

How late was it and where you the only ones in that section? They may have wanted to close that section and clean it up early, and if your just sitting there then you may as well be at home. I like the way you say you are a regular because you go maybe once a week. A regular is someone that knows the staff by name and the staff know yours back, and they know what you drink.

Never seen that happen and as said, I wouldn't be going back. Or maybe talk to manager, maybe some staff had a bad day and needed a power trip.

Why go to a pub to not have a drink? I really don't think it's unreasonable to ask you to leave, 3 hours for 1 round - if I was serving in that place I'd be worried what you were up to tbh :P

The issue is more that they weren't polite about it and didn't nicely ask you if you fancied a lager while using their tables.

Hey... That was once and not something I proud of. It was a foolish thing it was to do too. :( I'm actually really passive.

You make me sound like a bully! :p

Elaboration?

There's me making you an honourary englishman and you do something like that.

Actually you're fitting in pretty well, was it after loads of belgian beer, marketed on its french heritage on a saturday night?

I wouldn't sit in a pub for 3 hours with one drink, but if I did I wouldn't be astounded if I was asked to leave eventually if I wasn't spending any money.

That's pretty sure show, drinking 1 pint in 3 hours! Call yourself an Englishman?!

Haha, hes Scottish isn't he? Makes it even worse!

Anyway, sounds like a jobs worth to me. Find another pub or have a word with the management if you go in again.

Exactly what I would intending to post.

It's an old story - cut up by a white van man after he nearly ran over pedestrians and cyclists because he was in the wrong lane. I hooted, he slammed his brakes and tried to pull me out of my car. I got fed up, he pushed the right buttons and after about several minutes of abuse and aggression from him, I decked him. :/ IF you're that interested there's a thread in motors about it if you search for it. It's not one of my finer moments.

It was 10pm. We werent the only ones in that bit no,even then they come through and say they are closing it. Usually it's a younger guy and girl on the bar who are very nice but this guy was as charming as me.

Going twice a week on not busy nights you do get known as do the staff. Wouldn't say I only ever drink in there though. We were just sittin on a couch talking,no arguing or that just talking quietly. The couple across from us doing the same.

I can understand from a business point of view that its bad practice, never disagreed there but the fact when I do go I do drink ~4 pints and buying her cokes(rather than drink the bottles in my bag for instance). Would be first time I've been chucked out for actually not drinking rather than being legless.
