*** ATi 5970 - In Stock & Shipping Now ***

ahhh people complaining about ATI cards being over £400 yet I remember when the 8800 first came out, that said we are in a credit crunch

needless to say.....WANTS

Hmmm. Wish there was a game that actually needs one of these.

You're not wrong here. Games are too far behind to warrant spending anything too expensive on cards at the moment. This is no more evidident than Crysis still being the leading benchmark and the peak of todays gaming.

whats the length of this is it longer than a 5870? and is it 2x 5870 on 1 board so it will get really hot and use loads of electricity

5770= £100-£150.
5850= £200-£250.
5870= £300-£350.
5970 should = £400-£450? Unless they make a 5950, which would take the £400-£450 price and leave the 5970 with the price it is now.

Jesus H. Check out the price tags on those.

Performance to price ratio, i think my 5870 purchase at £299 was spot on.

Also, the power consumption is double that of a 5870, this is a true enthusiast's card.

LOL, have you seen the 5870/5850 availability from ATI's partners, I highly doubt they could even see to 50% of pre-orders.

This aimed at my post?

Like I said they 'seem' to have a live pre order system with a finite amount of stock. If they didn't then by the time google shopping links these I'd bet my house that they couldn't fulfill all the pre orders in that time frame.

Lets not forget fatboy and ocuk here, good for them for getting stock at launch, theres plenty of people 'willing' to pay the premium....
