Steam expired account

Steam keeps telling me my account has expired and i keep having to re-enter my password. I normally get this when i load it up on a different pc, but this keeps happening all the time. Is there something wrong with steam, or should i look at changing my password in case of a hack?
 
i hate steam, i went away on holiday a few months back, got back read my emails got a ton of "your account is expiring.. your account has expired" due to lack of activity.

what a piece of crap steam is, i detest it!

i only got it as i had to, to install Last Remnant
 
I'm getting the same when I try & play MW2. Either that or its telling me the servers are too busy & try again in a few minutes. I can play Shattered Horizon fine though...
 
Id suggest:

closing steam, going to steam folder, delete two .blob files, restart steam, it will update, login as usual, should work.
 
I didn't touch Steam for about 2 years, logged back in no problem (apart from forgetting my password briefly). Maybe Valve just don't want you in their club house?
 
I had the same message yesterday. It happened after a Windows update. Whether or not that is simply a coincidence I don't know. Seems to be working okay now though, it had saved my login name, all it told me was that for security reasons I had to re-enter my password.

:confused: I've never ever heard of this happening before
 
Steam was acting up for me last night, I assume it was the extra traffic from L4D2.

Mr Anderson you might want to change your steam password, just in case someone has managed to get hold of your steam details and is trying to login as you from somewhere else.

I cba with steam anymore, i'll just buy my games and get them shipped through the post. I'm getting download times of 3 hours or more.

Games purchased through Steam do not expire - you will only be charged once for permanent access to the game through your Steam account.

I think most likely, someone was trying to scam you. Shame on you for not realising.

Just had a friend at work who logged in after not touching his account for 5 years.

I don't think you're going to be able to avoid Steam altogether, some new games are linked to it.
 
I had that onces, found out why, too bad I uninstalled than reinstalled it that worked only I lost all the games so I had to reinstall them, again

lucky for me I have orange box, empire total war and L4D on CD :D
 
is this a steam message (ie the program it's self happens before you login) or a friend message from someone with the name STEAM ADMIN etc?
