The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Ok, I've re-actiavted my account, enjoying it so far, although I've really just been moving my gear about. I'm considering joining up with a corp, are there any in the OCUK alliance that are:

1] Based in or near lonetrek (don't like to travel too far away from "home")
2] Don't mind if I do a bit of PvP
3] Won't complain if I'm a lazy **** and am not online often / don't necessarily get involved in corp activities if I cba? (on the flipside I wouldn't expect stuff provided by the corp unless I do!)

tentative enquries really at this stage though, don't know if I'm back permanently or not, and never been sure if corps are really for me!
 
Looks good. Was in Torrinos a couple mins ago actually. Are you involved in faction warfare? Or just 0.0 PvP?

Wormholes is a whole new thing to me, didn't even know they existed! Gonna have to read up on them. Low Sec? as in 0.1 - 0.4? So do you just take security hit and criminal flagging? How do you choose who to target? Or do you have war declarations?
 
Hi Folks,

I just downloaded the free trial - having a new PC and being a big fan of the old Elite and Frontier series this looked right up my street.

How do you actually control the ship? Is it solely via the mouse and clicking on a target destination. Is there any way for free flight?

Basically, but you can also click anywhere in freespace to move in that direction.

There's no WASD/joystick style free flight if you want. Double click anywhere to move in that direction, doubleclick somewhere else to change direction.

Well CCP Abathur (spelling?) had been working on capital balancing for quite a while on Sisi with feedback from the community as far as I can see, it was all going well, titans were good, super carriers were worth fielding, 20 fighters/drones etc.

Suddenly out of the blue CCP Nozh comes out of left field and reduces the fighters/drones on the supercarriers to 10, same as carrier, reduces the effectiveness of compact citadels by gimping their explosion raduis so that the fighter bombers can't do full DPS to sieged dreads even, kind of a weird decision.

The forums go mental, CCP Nozh tries to back pedal slightly, raising fighters/drones to 15 but drops DPS on fighter bombers allows them to dock in station and slashes costs by 40%
