**The Dragon Age Origins Thread **

No not at all, but then I've got a few interrupts - what class are you?

A mage with Mana Clash is great, anything that has mana - mages, demons, abominations etc gets insta owned and it's AoE as well. Very OP if you have it before doing the Mages Tower especially. Although orange conning demons resist it like a lot of other spells.

My 2 hand warrior has a lot of knock down talents which interrupt.

Charge in, pommel strike, crit hit, mighty blow to finish - if one doesn't die, leave your mages/archer to finish him, then 2H sweep for the next guy, and sunder arms for the 2 rapid hits. Pommel strike recharges fast, so spam that whenever you get the chance, and don't mix knockdown and stunning attacks in rapid succession. grabbing the first level of poison making helps, someone else mixes stronger poisons and you can just coat your weapons in them. Magebane only really helps for the longer fights, demons and such. Be cautioned that skills don't carry the damage bonus for flaming/frost weapon spells, runes or poisons.

Edit: Also, if your warrior gets frozen or otherwise held, use him for the force field/crushing prison combo. It seems to wipe off the negative statuses, or at least give you enough time to get free of them, heal and charge again.

I be a soldier, no specialisation yet, I've got three interrupt attacks but there's three mages, all very spread out. I can take down two, but by then my party will be weak and the third will usually finish us off. There's also two archers and two soldiers in there that add to the frustration. There's two casting freeze spells and a third casting a huge flame spell that also causes knockdown.

Going to experiment some now though, to be fair i only tried 4/5 times.

Might be the headache but Orzammar is starting to bore me. Seemed to be a lot of backtracking, with a dungeon twice as long as the rest. I'm all for longevity but there's a part of me that just wants to get on to the next stage.

lol, know what you mean. I just replied to a thread on the Steam forums about this very same subject. That dorf city just drove me mad.

I just finished the Landsmeet, but I think it's bugged. I won the voting 4-2, but in favour of me but yet the final outcome is that the evil twerp wins...can't say anymore or it'll be a spoiler. I reloaded and went through it again with different responses and the outcome was the same. Bit annoyed by that.

Just got to Redcliff with my party, me as a 2h warrior, allistair, morigan and lelianna.

I'm having a hard time with the defense of the city from the undead. The first part is okay but the second part when you fight in front of the chantry I always seem to become overhelmed by numbers at some time and start losing.

Any tips on this fight?

Run back up the hill to the knights from before, and keep using one guy to run back and forth, pulling the undead towards them.

I had to pull them from the hill next to the inn to win this fight.

I'm having quite a bit of difficulty with the tactics system.. I just cannot seem to get it to do what I want.

What I want to do is have 2 tanks at the front, but holding the line, not advancing or retreating. Behind that I want myself (a mage) , and then off to the side, roughly 10m or so and slightly behind the line, an archer fella.

I dont want anyone to move, the archer to remain stationary and shoot at anyone that comes into his range. Then I want the tanks to remain holding the line and engage anyone that comes within melee range (not just let them wander straight past them). Whilst the mage throws spells from behind the line.

Having a lot of difficulty though, seems that what ever I do, everyone inevitably all just ends up running about and doing their own thing and wrecking my carefully set up formation.

Any tips?

That bugged me for a while too, until someone pointed out the hold position / move freely button at the bottom of the character portraits.

The fight in Redcliffe Village is one of about three so far where I've had to put the difficulty back to easy. It was just too hard without having to resort to cheap tactics.

Just done the defending Redcliffe Village quest, now onto the next part.

Anyone heard there is going to be something put up on the Dragon Age website today?

Twitter feed looks like this: "If I was a fan of Dragon Age: Origins, I'd be keeping my eyes on the Dragon Age website tomorrow. Just saying. - Evil Chris"

Tomorrow being today, just thought you lot would like to know. :)

Loving the game so far, will probably play through again once completed !

Im currently recruiting the elves in the forrest, I have done the warewolf mission and completed the ruins dungeon.

Bloody difficult i must say.

When you press hold, the party doesn't move.

But you can take control of each member and move them to where you want and they'll hold that position until you tell them otherwise.

Well I have run through the game twice now :) Once with a rouge (duel/ass) and once with a mage (arch warrior / blood)

Have to say that my mage at level 20 was pretty much invincible 80%+ on all resistances, Armour Class of around 65 and 90 odd defence.. :) got to love full dragon plate + stone skin + arcane shield + spell shield + arcane warrior talents + aura that gives you back health for dead things.. turn on blood mage kill some health.. kill some people get health back :)
