it is technically a 5850 CF on 1 board.
yes but just x2..Surely the 5970 has the same shaders of the 5870 although with lower clocks.
I'd love any future dual GPU card to be dual 5770's for about £220. Though I suppose that then steps on the toes of the 5870 which is £100 more![]()
don't forget the 5850 as 1440 Stream Processing Units and 72 Texture Units .. so a 5950 would have x2 that, 2880 Stream Processing Units and 144 Texture Units, and if that wasn't enough they could lower the clocks little. like the 5970.What would the 5950 be if it was released, as the 5970 is already at 5850 speeds, so would have to be slower, unless they do full blown 5850's, but then again, still wouldn't be much slower than the 5970, so probably not much point.
We got informations that AMD will launch another Dual-GPU, called HD 5950, in Q1/2010. This card will feature 2x 1440 SPs, 2x 72 TMUs, 2x 32 ROPs and 2x 256 Bit GDDR5. The clock frequencies are not final, yet, but you can expect 650-675 MHz for the core and 1800-2000 MHz for the memory.
they should make 5770x2 would be nice
