For this spec...

Asus P5K-VM
Coolermaster 460 Watt PSU
E6600 (Will probably be run at 3 or 3.2Ghz)
GeIL 4GB (4x1GB) PC6400C5 800MHz Value DDR2

Used for general stuff and gaming, I'm after a card that won't be overkill for the spec but will allow me to play some more modern games at reasonable frame rates, probably at a max of 1440x900 but maybe less. New or 2nd hand is fine.

Have no preference to which flavour so fire away.

The latest best bang for bug card seems to be the 5770 ATI series although thats just a personal opinion (£119). Or an old nvidia 8800gts or similar still plays the latest games at a reasonable quality and can prob get them for a cheap price.

8800gt £30
4850 £45
4870 £60
4890 seen these go for £80 recently

second hand from the mm I'd go with an 8800gt for that res

If wanting brand new then the radeon 5770

Don't forget you get Dirt 2 with the 5770 so knock of what £25 for that and it puts this card at a good price.

That's so frustrating, the 5770 I bought two weeks ago has dropped a tenner and I didn't get Dirt 2 either.

Must have been just the 5850/5870 that came with dirt 2, makes my 5850 a better bargain then as i managed to get it when they were £198 .
