**The Dragon Age Origins Thread **

I just finished the game for the first time. Epic doesn't begin to describe the end events, equal if not better than Mass Effect's amazing ending.

The final fight was a nightmare and a half until I realised I could call in reinforcements :o I'll miss Shale and Alistair the most I reckon, they had me in stitches all the way through :D

Semi spoiler........ dragon related

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH im fighting the High Dragon and keep dying.

I just got it down to maybe 50 health, one Winters Grasp would have taken it down. Everyone dead except morrigan, she had barely any health either, no pots left, no mana left, the dragon pauses and im pausing/unpausing as the cool down timer is going round praying it'll happen soon and....

Well of course she died. Gah, so annoying. I think ive got the right tactics, just gotta be a bit lucky. I hate that just one more potion or pot would have done it though!

New DLC coming "Return to Ostagar"

Don't think I'll bother. On my second play through now, then I'll just play other things until some cool new content from modders comes out. Need to play through Mass Effect again anyway to get a save game in time for ME 2 :)

I will pick it up as soon as the uni unblocks the ports for the dragon age log in. Looks fairly good and is a solid expansion for the price I reckon.

I would like to thank those who have participated in this thread.

As an older member here, this is my type of game, which i thought i would never see the like of again. (Not the same but near enough).

If not for this thread i would have missed this game, which i am about half way through, ( i know i am slow but i am a magpie) so i am slow so what?.

Anyway all of your posts from beginning to end have kept me interested, and i have enjoyed reading from start to finish so thanks.

Having a blast also, playing a 2handed warrior along with alistair, morigan and leliana still.
Finally beat Redcliff castle but I had to tune down the difficulty I could not manage to get past these waves of undead in front of the castle on hard.

$5? Bargain most likely be like £20 for the UK knowing the messed up conversion rates lol

Okay I have the blood dragon armor set on my warrior. :D

What level can you do The Stone Prisoner? I look the look of the big thing and think it might replace Alistair. :)

This is the first time in literally years that I've thoroughly enjoyed a single player rpg. It manages to capture the sense of fun and adventure that seems to be missing from almost all new releases. I was genuinely starting to think I was done with serious gaming until this came along.

After restarting the game with all the races and finally reaching Denerim after freeing the mages, dwarfs and elves, i have a few things that are starting to annoy me.

There seems to be a complete lack of reaction to you being a blood mage, your NPC's only have limited responses to you, but most normal NPC's in the world don't.

The templars don't react either........

There is no use at all for the last blood spell in the tree, it cant be used in conversations and you can mind control your own party members, which them 2 i feel are massive oversights.

Very disappointed in the lack of variable armour styles and weapon styles, it feels like there are about 3-5 different types of armour, most just shaded another colour.

Mana Clash is the most overpowered thing in the game, you can do around 2k damage to a single target!

Force field is also another overpowered spell, but that is mainly down to the AI rather then the game.

Arcane warriors are basically god mode, with the entropy healing aura and life siphon and some shield spells there just a walking steamroller.

This is still the greatest game i've played in about 5-6 years, but the issues listed above i feel have been massively overlooked.
