Battlefield: Bad Company 2 – PS3 Beta Begins Soon

I got my code from the fileplanet link on page 1 then created a US account to download it with and play it on my UK account, not sure if anyone else has noticed but on the ticker in the game it says US/EU beta launched now!

Would also be interested to know if it makes any difference to servers or anything else.
 
Had a quick go this morning before work, it's good!
Very much in the ilk of the first one, which certainly isn't a bad thing, but feels more refined this time round.
Between this and MAG I think my online shooty needs are going to be catered for nicely.

I don't really get on with COD for some reason, so it's a relief that this appears to have turned out well.
 
I've just had a quick go. Highly amusing. Loved flying the little RC helicopter thing. Although for some reason none of my stats are updating. They're all stuck at zero.

Just made a US account and downloading the beta now!

I can't believe how much better the PSN Store is laid out than the EU one. So much easier to navigate and find things.
Seem to be SO many more PS One games on the US store than EU as well, a lot of them I have been waiting for. Do they all eventually come to the EU store or only what they feel will be popular? Resident Evil, Spyro, Syphon Filter, loads more!

Seriously dude, you don't pay attention to the ramblings of a hopeless old gamer like me!

I only became interested in multiplayer six months ago when I played BF1943. To me that was perfect - minimal classes, no weapons upgrades, just the tactics (and skill) of the players. I know that BFBC2 is different in that weapons upgrades are available but I don't think it's possible for people to have huge advantages like calling in air strikes or attack helicopters and things. (Well I hope not.)

Also, I prefer this type of team-based sabotage play where you really cannot camp unless you want to lose. I cannot be doing with camp people.
 
Initial thoughts -

1) Once again, total lack of comms.
2) For some reason people seem to be very keen to push on towards the enemy spawn points and neglect the A+B crates that need to be defended. It only takes one person to sneak by and you've had it.
3) Games can go on for ages! There are four separate "segments" to play if the attacking team do well.
4) Lots of game disconnects (expected in a beta but BF1943 is plagued by them on PS3 - hope that's not a sign that this will continue in this game.)

Give me a shout if you want some BF1943 action - in the last week thats pretty much the only online game Ive played - just like how its pretty much plug and play and that you dont need to contend with ranked up players with their uber-weaps...

No doubt we were born in the same decade ;)

EDIT: Ive not had any discons in BF1943 myself...

Really? Then you must be very lucky. It's why I'm always on the 360 version - the PS3 game freezes and disconnects at least once every session and it only does it in this game so I know it's not the wireless LAN.
