An armed robber who held up a bookies wearing a see-through veil which meant police could still recognise him on CCTV has been jailed for four years.

That's the thing I've always wondered about people wearing tights over their heads to try and disguise themselves, it never looks that effective on film but is it that much more effective in real life?

I just don't get why they bother using tights at all. Maybe on TV they use magic movie-tights that obscure the villains faces from people but not cameras, but like semi says they don't appear very effective.

Use a balaclava. The only see through bit is for your eyes. And you can wear shades. No part of your face shows then.

Admittedly I have only ever seen tights used in a comedy role or just plain bad programming...
