Tasers girl who resisted bedtime shower

Fine, but she was not tasered then, she was tasered for resisting arrest, whilst lashing out an officer.Something which is not shocking.
.

He tried to arrest her for refusing to take a shower, he then tased her for objecting to the arrest. Who the f should be arrested for not taking a shower?

You should perhaps read the full story - it helps

take your own advice.

In his own words, he took her into the shower and upon refusing to follow her mothers instructions in taking a shower, he took her out of the shower to arrest her. She objected, he tased her. Exactly as I put it before.

The question still remains as to what the hell the police were doing there in the first place. The mother has clearly failed by this point, which may be her fault or wider society's fault.

Tasering a 10 year old is still absurd, whichever you slice it.

Why are you missing main points out of the story?

if i was a ten year old girl i'd ****ing lash out at an officer after he tried to force me to shower in front of him, regardless of if he was trying to arrest me afterwards.

You've completely read the story wrong and missed major points out.
Put it in the correct way and I will reply.

So you'd be perfectly happy for a grown man to force your child into a shower?

or would you expect her to fight tooth and nail against that?

Just have a long think why she may be lashing out, all the possible reasons. Imagine a police officer putting you into a shower when you are naked, as I doubt they were shoving her in clothed... ten year old are people as well.

This is all pointless without further information, I see this story featured in a few newspapers today.. no further detail as far as I could see.

Missing out half the story? I don't think so dm. Nothing trully can be analyzed without a complete story which it isn't in the first place.... further clarification of the whole situation is needed.

I think you trying to stick up for the story on the side of the action taken is quite sickening; since you are a parent yourself.

So tasering has become an acceptable form of punishment, administered by the police.

What ****ing screwed up logic. If the taser was used because she was resisting arrest, what was the officer's reason for trying to arrest her in the first place.

It doesn't matter if she's ten. She was resisting a fake arrest. You cannot get tased for resisting a fake arrest.

What a stupid mother as well. Lets create an arrest record for my ten year old daughter.

I'll refer you to post 98 of which I have no doubt happened.
If you can't see it I'm not going to point it out.

Mother calls policeman to deal with unruly 10 year old. Weird.

Mother suggests tasing her. WTF.

Policeman attempts to carry child to shower with mother. Child understandably resists.

Policeman threatens child with jail. A 10 year old. Threatened with jail for refusing to have a shower and resisting being carried into the shower by a cop.

Policeman tries to arrest child and cuff her. Child again understandably resists. Bear in mind that she is only 10 years old.

Policeman loses it and tases child.

I defy anyone to say that any of this is normal or measured, or that the child's responses are not totally understandable at any stage of the game. Seriously, would you expect any 10 year old to behave any other way if threatened with jail by a policeman who had just attempted to manhandle her into the shower? I mean WTF.

The mother is the real root of the failure. The child is probably a beast, no doubt, but that's bad parenting for you. The policeman is a moron.

I couldn't care how much the kid was kicking off, it was a kid. Calling that a domestic as well. Hmm

I suspect it's always called a domestic in the US, and if 'cop shows' are to be believed, calling the cops out for errant kids seems much more common over there than it is here.

As for whether it was justifiable to Taser a 10-year-old. Almost certainly not. There must be a better way. In this case, I get the impression from the limited information available that she didn't seem to be in imminent danger of harming herself, so withdraw and let things take their natural course.

tbh anyone advocating the tasering surely supports all parents being given tasers for when their kids refuse to shower/eat vegetables/go to bed. It's the same thing as what happened here. Just give all parents tasers. right?

right?

"I moved her into the living room area and told her she was going to jail"...This guy springs to mind

Grrr, those pesky kids huh!

Seriously I think the UK police should all have tasers! Easy way to detain people, I don't care what age they are, if they do not listen to the police they should be taught a short and sharp lesson in manners; never did me any harm (the lesson that is, not taser!)

Completely agree.

Can't wait until you are voicing your legal rights as an officer is trying to violate them and you get an unlawful shock. Lets see how much you agree then.
