Voicemail from Iran

'evening gents.

Last night at 22:00 I was watching TV and didn't notice my iPhone ring. When I went to it afterwards I saw I had a missed call and they left a voicemail, but it's in some crazy foreign language :mad:

(Man the pitchforks etc!).

The phone number was +98 **********. Not gonna post the full number yet. I've googled the whole number and got no hits, but googled +98 and found that it's Iran :eek:

Now as the only way to transfer the voicemail file off the iPhone is illegal :rolleyes:

I've recorded it to my laptop. File is here in a hideusly inefficent wav file. The delay at the start and end is my recording, not the original voicemail.

Any ideas what they're saying? I got as far as "We're gonna nuke you from orbit" but was lost after that

If it's from Iran the chances are the language is Persian.

Just because Apple says Jailbreaking is illegal doesn't make it so.

My Farsi is rusty but what I managed to decipher:

"Hi my name is/it is Janbir (sp?)...??????????...thank you, goodbye"

The bit in the middle where the ??? seems to be asking for someone, but I couldn't make it out so I put the ??? there.

I'll ask the GF, she speaks fluent Farsi.

I also speak fluent Farsi and can confirm this seems to be the correct translation.

However, the term the speaker uses, دستگاه, I would more accurately transliterate as "device" rather than "package", but I might be wrong on that. If anyone else could confirm that'd be great

i speak farsi, she asked her friend to give her a call as they havent spoken in a while and she has something to talk to her about.... oh and she calls her love at the end and says thanks and goodbye....

EIDT, that is as exact as i can get it, hope it helps

but its along the correct lines. Sound like they typed the wrong number.
