OMFG !! God of war Collection coming to bluray this Holiday

Roughly how much would import tax up the price from £32 at Movietyme?

When I last ordered from them they mark the items as a $10 or $20 book (I think), which avoids all VAT and Import duties (I believe)

It has been a while since I imported games, but, I believe goods imported from outside of the EU are only charged if they are above £105 (used to be £18 till last xmas). However, VAT is payable on ALL items that cost more than £18.

They may still mark the items low, as they want you to avoid VAT (even though they could honestly mark the value and avoid Import Duty).

In short you will get your game for £32 quid. (They also may well ship their items in bulk to the UK and pay legit charges on them, and then post them onto you from the EU which means no taxes, either way, the end result is the same to you).

Thanks.. I was just going on what their FAQ said:

"Q: Are shipments Liable To Import Tax & Duty?

A: Yes as a rule all items over £18 in value are liable for Customs Tax & Duty.
Customers of this site are responsible for paying local countries import taxes / duty and are none refundable by us."

But I suppose they can't exactly say that they're gonna mark the items low.

Well, the fact that they say customs and duty which is not the case anymore (only Duty=VAT) means either:

a)that bit of their site is out of date (and so many bit's on their site are terrible or broken tbh!!)

b) like you say, they are covering their backs

c) their policy has changed since I last ordered from them last year.

I hope it is a) or b) as I am not looking forward to getting hit with VAT (customs/import tax is not liable as it is <£105), especially as I bought the game with an outstanding account credit I had!!

Fingers, crossed :)

Has anyone here had anything from Movietyme recently who feels they can tell us what value was marked on their parcel/package?

Never played GoW 1 or 2 but I played the one on the PSP so this was a must buy for me. Went to the game shop today since a friend wanted some help trading in some games and there it was, sitting on the shelf. Didn't realize it was going to be released this early in Taiwan~

I'm about a hour in to the first one and I'm very impressed so far. The redone graphics look very nice. My only complaint is that they didn't redo the cutscenes so it's very very obvious they're straight from the PS2 versions.

My copy from Movietyme arrived this morning! :D Was dispached on Wednesday and no custom charges, bless em.

I thought a demo of GOW 3 was included? Can't find it anywhere in the menus?

Mine is missing it also, as are people in the official forums: http://forums.godofwar.com/t5/God-o...of-War-3-Demo-in-my-GOW-collection/td-p/12530

Not bothered myself, as I already have the demo, but definitely a mess up by Sony as you are supposed to have a scratch-card inside the packaging, and I am sure a lot of people are buying this game expecting the demo as part of their package.

Contact "thecremeegg" in this thread: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18072956 and he can share the details for the OcUK account that you can download the GOW3 demo from.

Good good, just to confirm then - there's no extra VAT/Tax/etc charges from Movietyme?

The packaging has a "Royal Mail 1st class paid" logo on it. They may well be importing them an then posting on from the UK depot etc (maybe only if you pay the £1.99 extra?).

Anyway... legally if customs open it they can charge you for VAT, they cannot charge you import duty as a) it is below £105. I think movietyme are still marking them below £18 which was the old limit (or maybe keeping it as $20 as other countries have lower limits for import duty).

Customs and Excise have better things to do than open jiffy bags (which is what this came in) and bear in mind it costs them approximately £5-£8 in effort to open and charge VAT. on an item they can only prove is worth $20 they would lose money and the Queen would be unhappy :)

Here is a picture of the packaging and text etc:
