Big Stan - Now 50% less fat. Reduced salt too.

Congratulations Stan, that is really impressive, and you look a lot better for it (if you don't mind me saying) :)

It makes the two and a half stone I've lost look small.

superb going :)

we shall have to have a huge **** up to celebrate :D

I'm game. It's been too long since the last one. As long as I have a few days to prepare :D

Awesome job Stan, absolutely fantastic work! I went from a peak of 290lb to as of now 170.6lb, so I can appreciate the level of hard work and dedication that goes into these kinds of transformations. Again, fantastic job, you look great!

That must have been a massive change - makes my loss look paltry. I'd love to see before and after pics of that

You achieved that and the only exercise you did was walking? Should have worn a pedometer, I'd love to see how far you've walked in a year.

When I'm at home, I usually average about 8-10 miles every day. Sometimes only 4-5 but occasionally as much as 16. When I'm on the rig, there isn't much scope for walking but I'll usually do 2-3 miles around the helideck of an evening - I adjust my diet on the rig accordingly.

Everybody else, thanks for your kind words. I'm really rather pleased with myself :)

I did request a name change in the OP to Stan_Lite. It may have been missed since it was right at the bottom.

Good work!

I can never understand fat people, horrid.

That sort of attitude doesn't help anybody. I'd rather you didn't bad mouth fatties in my thread - I used to be one myself and many of my friends are chubby.

Thanks.
Don't be so modest - 2 1/2 stones is an awesome result :)

Stan, amazing result! I need to get myself motivated and lose some weight. I've been chubby all of my life and the max weight I've been is 16stone (what I am currently) (I'm 6ft). I carry most of my weight in my chest and nobody has every guessed that I'm as heavy as I am which is probably a good thing.

What you did with your 'diet' is logic, eat less and exercise more. brilliant!

Need to get myself sorted and lose the weight, I want down to 12stone. I just think it'd be amazing to see how different I would look and I'm sick of always feeling tired and sweating lol.

That is cracking work, in the middles of doing it myself, shame i did not take any photos to start with tho!
Very well done

Brilliant.
Now you can sunbathe without keeping your shirt on.

It shows me that i can loose weight if i put my mind to it.

Thanks for the inspiration.

As a man who has struggled with weight issues for the entirety of adult life, I find your victory to be most impressive. I have recently started to gain a handle on my diet and exercise levels, and with any luck will soon be able to tell a similar tale.

Excellent work, sir.

If my story can inspire one person, I'll be delighted. Good luck with it and let us know how you get on :)

The first step is setting yourself an achievable goal and the rest is just working towards that. It's damn hard and there are highs and lows along the way but the end result is worth all the effort.

Stan, can I ask if eating a balanced diet cost you much ie. did you buy more fresh meat for example?

So why did you lose weight then?

I'm sure you used to dislike the way you were so you did something about and fair play to you - will power works wonders, you're proof of that.

I'm sure Stan lost weight because it was time to change but the fact that the guy who posted the original comment called large people 'horrid' is not nice.

Ok, Ok, you have made me think that even I might be able to do something ..... I'm VERY impressed that you were able to make the changes without being nagged etc; I suppose that is when you really know that you mean it ...... having given up smoking after 40 years of B&H, all I can say is use the same mental strength, ie really WANT to stop, and you will be successful.

Many congratulations! superb effort!
