**The Dragon Age Origins Thread **

Ahhhh okay. I was considering rolling from a Rogue to a Mage.

Do Arcane Warriors use swords / hit physically a lot, or they simply wear armor and take the hits?

I'm asking because I like close range combat, but with lots of magic! :p

The other option is dual wield warrior / reaver.

What I tend to do is blast through all my mana and then switch to warrior mode and go in hitting. With massive armour and stoneskin you take minimal damage from the little stuff and with a big two hander and a high magic score you can lay out some heavy damage. If you use magic while in melee mode it costs a fortune mana wise.

Ive got the dlc's for the deluxe edition from steam redeemed and downloaded in game, but they arent installing? Has anyone else had this problem? Is it because steam patched the game to 1.0.1 and the dlc says it needs 1.0?

Cheers

I just need to sort out my specializations (reaver, templar etc) and somehow unlock them. I'm level 11 and still have no idea how to get them. I should have had at least one at level 7.

What's the best specialization for a warrior tank class and are there any websites I can visit which will show me the 4 specialization trees so I know what kind of spells they'll give me.

Thanks.

The wiki is quite good.

Obviously ^ contains spoilers.

Gotta say - I absolutely loved the Deep Roads under Orzammar. Not sure if it was because I was high level, and taking on hordes of Darkspawn is huge fun when you're much more powerful.

I'm also loving the "Finishing Moves", especially against Ogres. I keep on trying to get Alastair or Oghrun to get the last blow, just for the slow-mo ;)

I remember reading in the thread..but forgot lol that if you create a new character and upload it to Bioware you get some sort of gain to your character? is this right or was a I dreaming?

If you download the seperate character creator program and make a character then upload that to your Bioware social account you get a ring that gives +1 to all attributes.

I might have encounted a problem. I'm quite early on in the game, I've just let the big guy who murdered the farming families out of his cage, I then removed Alister from my party and tried to add him in (forget his name, begins with S). I jiggled the party round a bit to try and get some of Alister's equipment off of him for the new guy, and now I can't add the new bloke or Alister into my party at all, I can't select them on the party select screen, just Morrigan, the pooch and the red headed girl with the French accent.

Is this a bug or is there some kind of limit on the amount of times you can add/remove party members?

Possibly a bug. Have you got access to camp yet (can't remember if you get that before or after Lothering)? If so try hitting the party screen there and seeing if they'll add in.

My appologies, I appeared to have ignored this totally.

Is it really as good as everyone is saying?

Not in my opinion but admittedly I seem to be in a minority there. Perhaps I was expecting too much but I think this is a decent effort...not a classic.
Roll on the mods.
