lol i went the play.com route to save a few quid. So if i pre order now do you think id get it sent out asap. If so your officially the bringer of good news. Oh and is there any voucher codes floating about.

No, all the voucher codes have expired
I saw a post on someone who ordered last Friday and got a shipping mail today, so I don't think there is a queue

I went down the MPD route as the t-mobile deal was a good one, but they are still quoting Dec 3rd for delivery

If you ordered from Nokia direct then you should have had something like below? Money is being deducted from cards which indicates shipping..

Dispatch Email for UK!!!

Just got the following email (don't you love IMAP?!)

Dear Customer,

The item below is now in stock and this portion of your order has been released for processing. If the quantity below isn't the total quantity ordered then the remaining quantity will be released when additional stock is available.

Not me Im afraid, Im with MPD for my order, that was an example from the maemo forums, there were a whole bunch of posts at 4pm from people who all got mails from Nokia.

Did you order direct from Nokia, or was it from the nokia shops run by MPD

As for dates, some had ordered last month, one guy ordered last Fri and still got his email..

Trust professional reviewers who has used likely hundreds of phones in a review capacity... over Christo? Never...

The point is, the majority of reviewers do not think the keyboard is poor, you seem to place great stock in your own opinion when you havent even tried the device!

Well the problem with that is if it doesn't sell so well or have that many users, developers will pass on making apps for it, and in this type of phone, surely apps make or break it in the end?

There are be multiple iterations of Maemo phones in the works - this, heavily, backed by Nokia (by far the largest phone manufacturer) will virtually guarantee sales success/success for the platform (you'd be a very brave man to bet against this). As for attracting developers, they have quite a fight on their hands, however the signs are encouraging.

----

I have a note from Nokia for order processing today - fingers crossed on delivery this week. You can get if for less than £500, there are discounts out there (I got mine for substantially less - touch wood, until its in my hands though)

The impression that I have got from all the articles and presentations I have seen is that apps are not as important for the n900 as they are for other phones.
Nokia's take on this is that a lot of apps are created to link in to web based services as the mobile web experience is so poor through a browser. One selling point for the n900 is that the browser is meant to be fast and fully featured, so that a lot of the mobile widgets are no longer needed as people will just use the browser - supposedly..

I will let you know what I think of that when I get mine...

Don't think so. Theres an entire thread over at Maemo. UK Nokia Store people have had dispatched e-mails but no tracking, MPD have had the 3rd Dec thrown at them and now the news that anyone with a T-Mobile contract might not get it. Thats a rumour though. Everyone else is waiting for an ETA after the 3rd :)

Well Im expecting mine tomorrow - just got an email from Nokia for shipment..

Never listen to MPD - they are terrible.

As for the rumours about Tmobile - all that has happened is they are no longer being offered as such a good rate via MPD. That maemo forum is full of spoilt teenagers who dontknow their ass from their elbow.

My contract with O2 is finishing in December and I think the N900 will be my next phone. It seems like no UK networks are selling it on their websites/in store? :(.
